Newsworthy: Part 4/Repo Mantis: Part 1

Aria's POV:

Leo: "What just happened?"

Donnie rushes over to me as he checks for any signs of injury.

Donnie: "Ari, are you all right?"

I nod as I explain what happened in their absence.

Me: "I'm fine, Don. Don't worry. Warren & I used his gem to reflect Hypno's magic back to where it came from. So, now Hypno's out cold, and Warren's MIA."

Donnie sighs in relief as he smiles at my act of bravery.

Donnie: "That's my girl."

Raph: "Nice work, sis."

Mikey: "Yeah, way to be a hero!"

Leo scoffs at the idea of a villain helping his 'greatest nemesis'.

Leo: "No way! Villains don't just magically defect to the opposite side of the fight."

We then hear Warren yelling. We all turn to see him stuck to Leo's rear end.

Warren: "She's telling the truth! I helped her save you loser turtles by hypnotizing that beast. I also leapt in front of her when it tried to hypnotize her."

Leo pulls him out & holds him up in front of his face with a nonchalant expression.

Leo: "And you are?"

I laugh with a shrug as Warren turns to me with a groan. Hey, I kept my promise, technically. It's not my fault they don't believe it, or remember who he is.

Me: "Not bad for a goody two-shoes. Eh, Worm-Man?"

{Time skip}

Today, I've decided to join Mikey & Donnie in scrounging around a scrapyard in search of treasures for Mikey to collect, and spare parts for Donnie to use in future experiments.

Donnie: "Man, junkyards are gold mines!"

Donnie opens the trunk of a car, using the robotic arms of his battle shell to dig through it. He finds a pineapple air freshener and smells it with a pleased smile.

Donnie: "Who needs real pineapples when you have one of these babies?"

I giggle at his adorable positivity in such a unique circumstance. Suddenly, I hear a whirring sound from behind us. I turn to see a giant magnet lifting a car and dragging it our way.

Donnie: "Ah, fuzzy nerd dice!"

Me: "Donnie, incoming!"

Donnie turns to follow my gaze, nods, and grabs Mikey as the three of us leap out of the way, bounce down the pile of cars we were on top of, and land inside a car. Donnie's in the driver's seat, Mikey's in the front passenger seat, and I'm in between them in the backseat of the car. Donnie turns to me with a grateful smile.

Donnie: "Thanks for the heads up, Beautiful."

I nod before I see a wrecker truck pulling a vehicle behind it in the rearview mirror. I smirk as I realize what the towed vehicle is.

Me: "If you like that, you're gonna love this! Heads up, guys!"

I position the rearview mirror to their line of sight. They both gasp in excitement.

Mikey: "Is that?"

Donnie's eyes sparkle in admiration.

Donnie: "It is!"

Mikey: "The Jupiter Jim Moon Buggy!"

Donnie: "Featured in-"

Me: "Not one."

Donnie smirks as he realizes what I'm doing, and gladly participates in the fun.

Donnie: "Not two."

Donnie & I: "But 60 sequels."

He gives me a quick kiss before wrapping things up, leaving me briefly speechless.

Donnie: "Of 'Jupiter Jim's Last Trip to the Moon'!"

The wrecker's arm swings and releases the buggy, which rolls over and lands upright on its wheels.

We all turn in our seats as Mikey leaps over his to sit to my left.

Mikey: "How could anyone let that historic gem slip through their fingers?"

Donnie leaps over his seat to sit to my right as I rub Mikey's shell in reassurance.

Donnie: "I do not know, Michael. I do not know. But we've gotta have it."

Me: "Agreed. Let's do this!"

We all leap out of the car and head towards the buggy. We pop out from our hiding spot behind a car.

Mikey: "But how are we gonna get the car? Aside from Aria, we can't go and talk to one of those human people."

I open my mouth to speak, before the car we're hiding behind is lifted into the air. We turn in surprise to see a mutant praying mantis holding the car over his head.

Repo Mantis: "Who the heck are youse?"
