Hello! Here is the continuation of the adventures of Rey in the period of the prelogie. We hope you like it. Do not hesitate to vote (if you like it) or to comment. This remains, above all, my point of view on the Chosen One and the balance in the Force with the story of Mortis.

Rey's point of view

I entered the circular Council chamber, with seats surrounding me, with members of several races seated. Behind them were windows with views of the skyscrapers reaching out into space and constant traffic. The looks I received from the masters were inquisitive, no doubt due to Master Qui-Guon's report. Great...

Me: Well...what do you want? I doubt it's to talk about the nice weather outside.

Everyone seemed offended by my remark, except the little green being in the middle who gave a little amused smile. Then, this one started to speak

Little being: Training with the Force, Master Qui-Guon told us. What kind?

Me: I don't know. I was trained with the Force, not to follow a code of morality. Be it light or dark.

This created a certain chill in the Council, as they watched each other in stunned silence. Then a Jedi, a red-skinned togruta with white lekkus and patterns, stared at me with deep black eyes.

Togruta: What do you mean?

Rey: My m-master was a Force user. She thought that imposing a code of morality on me was putting chains on me. I had to be free to make my own choices, she said.

Although the others seemed to be whispering among themselves, those in the center seemed unyielding. The small man looked thoughtful as his companion, an ebony-skinned Jedi, looked at me with colder brown eyes

Jedi: The Jedi Code is to avoid excesses that could lead to the dark side.

Me: She never told me about Jedi or anything else. Just to follow my path and not the one they want to build me.

Jedi: Didn't she teach you the dangers of the dark side?

Me: Yes. But also the dangers of the light. Neither side is good or bad according to her. Everything is a way to control those sides.

Little being: Gray Jedi talk, it sounds like.

Me: I didn't know what a Jedi was until recently.

This word caused amazement among the Masters. Another Jedi, with a white beard and a rather large head, spoke up, not hiding his surprise

Jedi: That's impossible! Even in the far reaches of the Outer Rim, the Order is known to exist! How could you not have heard of it?

Little one: No lies, in his words, I feel.

Suddenly I felt an unbearable pressure in my mental shields. I had no choice but to step back, while keeping the most intimate parts. I couldn't stand being probed by strangers, having no choice at the moment. And reveal a little of my connection to the Force, in spite of myself.

Little one: Great respect and attachment for this one, you have. Revolve around you, Light and Darkness.

I remained silent at this statement, not wanting to betray my mother further. After testing my connection, I was eventually dismissed. However, I had to know what I was doing there and what the future held for me.

Several months later,

A lot has happened in so few days. The Queen returning to Naboo, a battle and then victory. And the death of Master Qui-Guon. All of this, had suspended the debates about my fate. Despite the prevailing light, I could feel the darkness lying dormant, but ready to act on the slightest weakness of its longtime enemy.
