Hi! Here is the continuation in the context of the Clone Wars. Hope you like it. Feel free to vote or comment. Above, a representation of Kyria, in her Jedi outfit.
Kyria's point of view
Months have passed since our wedding and nuptials, which lasted only a few days. The war had arrived, pushing the Jedis to lead the clones into this galactic war. As a result, I found myself leading a squad. The 177th. It bothered me to have such a role, even though the circumstances forced me to do so. To me, they were not supposed to be generals. That was not their role!
Now I found myself on a planet in the inner rim, defending a city against a Separatist invasion. The invasion had come two weeks earlier, surprising the planetary defense. The Republic responded to the distress call, sending us as reinforcements. However, once we arrived, we quickly realized the magnitude of the task at hand. After several days of fighting in the city, we had to call in reinforcements to repel them. Unfortunately, the Separatists realized this and launched a massive assault to force us to retreat.
However, I was not going to abandon the civilians and had to adapt the defense to ensure the safety of the civilians and to give them an escape route.
I had divided my squad into several sets of defense. In order to guarantee a better protection to the inhabitants and to allow them to avoid the conflict zones. With my purple saber lit, I deflected fire to protect my troops and any stragglers, while the clones continued to return fire, using the empty buildings as cover from enemy fire. The weather, deciding to prefer close combat. Indeed, the striking storm and the fog, gave no visibility for artillery or air support. So it was a guerrilla fight, where each side fought ferociously.
Me, parrying a shot: Status of civilians, Captain?
Captain: All civilians are away from the danger zone. Ready for a possible evacuation.
Me: Good.
No sooner had I finished the sentence, than I heard the sound of a missile being fired, followed by the sound of an explosion, coming from a large building. The top was collapsing, threatening to crush us. I immediately raised my hands to slow the fall and give us a chance to get out of the way, using the Force. The crushing weight made my arms tremble, drawing on my mind. Once I was sure the soldiers were out of danger, I jumped away using the Force. The dust from the debris obscured our vision, but I didn't need to see to parry the shots. The Force was my ally and I let it guide my movements. This, in addition to my fatigue from intense days of combat.
Captain: The front line is becoming untenable, ma'am! We should fall back!
Me: If we fall back, they can deploy their forces, to surround us and threaten the escape routes. We have to hold this line! If we don't, we won't be able to hold the rest of it and keep the civilians safe, and then there will be no stopping them.
With these words, I drew my second blade and went on the attack. I parried the shots coming in my direction and used the debris surrounding me as a projectile. This allowed me an opening to slip through their lines. I used my agility and speed to cut through anything that came within my range.
The distraction I provided allowed my troops to gain an advantage over the enemy. I cut off an arm of a superdroid, before stabbing it with my yellow blade. With my purple blade, I parried a shot and used the Force to knock them down.
Gradually, the separatist forces retreated, allowing my troops to join me. Finally, they withdrew, giving us a chance to breathe. Later, the weather calmed slightly, allowing the ships to maneuver. So our fighters and bombers came in, raining down fire and ion projectiles, wreaking havoc. This forced the opposing forces to evacuate, in catastrophe. Some were shot down by our fighters, while others managed to escape the atmosphere and reach the Separatist cruiser. Shortly afterwards, reinforcements came to our vision, via two cruisers. Soon this one left at light speed, bringing a welcome clearing and peace. I sighed with relief, enjoying this welcome rest. My gray armor was well tarnished by the dirt and mud of the battle. Even my face and my Jedi cloak had some. I was in for a good shower after that!
