Several years later,

Kyria's point of view

I was at my brother's house, sitting cross-legged on my bedroom balcony on Alderaan. Looking out at the mountains, I meditated to quiet my mind and listen to the Force. From what I could feel, the darkness was growing stronger and stronger, which worried me. Faint blips were heard in my ears. Sounds of lightsabers clashing, screams of pain, a dark shadow with a hissing sound that sent a chill down my spine. It sounded like mechanical breathing....Then, nothing.

I slowly regained my breath and my calm, while I saw from the corner of my eye, a figure entering my room.

I got up to meet her, to face my brother's wife. R6 was in the corner of the room, watching.

Breha: How are you, Kyria?

Me: Fine, Breha. Thank you

She looked at me with her searching brown eyes, showing that she was not convinced by my words. My brother's wife was just like him. Gentle, but could be authoritative, when necessary. Although Breha's aura was much more soothing and impressive, due to her status as a queen. With a wave of her hand, she told me to get out. I obeyed, before the queen did the same, closing the door behind her

Breha: Let's walk

It was soft, but very firm. So we started to walk, in the palace corridor. The walls were in a bright blue, the color of our family's emblem. The windows, letting the light through, were an elegant white, with golden patterns.

Breha: You were never good at lying, Kyria. What's on your mind?

Me: I can't help but feel a growing shadow, waiting for the best moment to strike.

She stared at me with a glimmer of concern, though she kept an upright and elegant posture.

Breha: Do you know nature?

Me: No. Just, not happy snippets. Screams of suffering, sounds of fighting and a dark shadow, with a chilling mechanical breathing. As if it brings death, in its wake.

Breha: Nothing very specific, then.

Me: No. Where is Bail?

Breha: He is preparing to stop a law on the creation of an army, from being made. It's against our ideals of peace. He's helping Senator Amidala convince the other senators. She should be joining her soon, on Coruscant.

Me: Why an army? We're not at war!

Breha: Bail also pointed out this issue. Maybe it has something to do with the Federation blockade ten years ago. In order to have an insane guard, perhaps, to prevent this drift. After all, Palpatine is from Naboo. It's not so surprising that he would make this kind of proposal.

Me: It's really strange. I have a bad feeling about this.

Breha: Otherwise, congratulations on your promotion!

She wanted to change the subject and it was welcome, to escape this tension. I smiled, thinking back to my knighting ceremony. It has been two years now.

Me: Yes, it was not that easy, having to face my doubts and fears. However, I am proud that I made it.

Breha: Bail was so happy, when he heard about your promotion! He would have liked to celebrate, but his senatorial duties prevented him from doing so.

Me: I don't blame him. As soon as I was promoted, I was already very busy. Between various crises, I didn't have much time to breathe. Fortunately, I had R6 to accompany me. She's a little cranky, but I consider her a friend
