"Alastair." I whined waking up with Alastair's weight on top of me, though comforting it was not entirely pleasant. Moving his mane to the side I pat at his nose as he woke up with a sneeze.
"Zariel." He whined getting off of me and laying on his back on the floor starting to stretch
"Morning fluff." I said getting up and becoming ready for the day.
After he finished his stretches, he sat in front of me holding a brush in his mouth. Taking his cue, I start brushing his mane before exciting our room and heading into the living room hearing Bloom ask about the day of the rose.
"It's a special day where everybody celebrates their own mother." Tecna informs as we see her packing a bag before turning towards Bloom. "Don't you have a holiday like that on earth?"
"Oh! Yes, but we call it Mother's Day." Bloom clarified.
"Are you going home Bloom?" Flora asked as we made our presence known.
"Hey girls." I greeted getting some back.
"No. I don't think so." Bloom stated turning towards Flora.
"Zariel, are you going home?" Tecna asked as they turned to look at me.
"Not at all. In Phrixus we have a holiday for my mother, it lasts 3 days 4 if you count the day that is spent with family only." I informed getting shocked looks from the girls before Stella exclaimed gaining our attention.
"Well then, you'll keep us company!" The blonde said as she and Musa came out of their rooms.
Watching Flora and Tecna leave, we decided to spend time in the cafeteria to get a quick bite to eat and find something to do.
"There's only Griselda left. All the teachers have cleared right off." Stella informed while taking a sip from her cup.
"You bet." We hear Mr. Wizgiz voice.
"You're going to?" Stella asked as we look to the end of the table spotting the leprechaun.
"And why not? Can't I have a mother?" The teacher teased as he turned the small flower on his shirt into a vibrant rose and skipping out of the cafeteria with a 'cheerio'.
"What a guy." Musa teased making us giggle.
"And you? Why aren't you two going home?" Stella asked Bloom and I clasping her hands with crossed fingers.
"I prefer to stay here. I f I see my parents again, even for just a day I'll feel even more homesick." Bloom confessed with a sad expression.
"I'll celebrate my mother on Phrixus holidays. I don't think my body can handle that much partying if I celebrate both Magix and Phrixus." I teased getting laughs from the girls and a couple of chuffs from Alastair.
"Okay, and why are you two staying here?" Bloom asked Stella and Musa perking right back up.
"I don't celebrate the day of the rose." Stella sighed out looking at the cup of tea in her hands. "I've never told you guys, but my mom and dad are splitting up. Yep, the king and queen of Solaria aren't getting along anymore. Okay, now you know everything." She finished with a sigh before Alastair rubbed his head against Stella causing her to yelp before laughing at his antics, cheering her up.
"So, what's your excuse Musa?" Stella asked leaning onto Musa.
"I haven't celebrated this day in a long time, because I haven't got anyone to celebrate." Musa said turning her head away from us. "I lost my mother when I was still very young."
"Musa, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have asked." Stella said feeling guilty.
"You don't have to apologize; you couldn't have known." Musa stated giving Stella a reassuring smile. "For me this day is just a little sadder than others, but hey life goes on. There's not much more I can do about it except live with my memories." She finished as tears appeared in her eyes.
