It w as qhad been a few days since Bondita stepped into Roy badi. All the people there except Bondita herself were aware why she was really here.

All these days, she had been doing her work well. She did make a few mistakes here and there but someone or the other corrected her and helped her out. But once, she had accidentally broken a vase which turned out to be Anirudh's Baba, Binoy Roy Chowdhury's favorite. His late wife had selected it personally. Not knowing what to do, she had gone crying to Anirudh who started panicking as soon as he realized she was crying. When asked why, she showed him a piece of the broken vase she was carrying and mumbled a soft apology along with a sob.

Although Anirudh was upset over it but he shrugged it off, understanding that it was just a mistake on her part. He had consoled her, lovingly wiping her tears. He never knew he had such a soft side to himself. It only came out for her. He had somehow handled the situation back then, and this caused Bondita to open up a little to him. She was starting to feel a little less afraid and a little more comfortable around him.

She couldn't deny that she was attracted to him but she also wasn't sure if she was just attracted to him or it was more than just an attraction. She had always felt a pull towards him and ever since that day, she had also started trusting him. However, since the last few days, Bondita wasn't able to conclude what exactly she was feeling for him. She didn't have to do much for him but when she wasn't working, she would mostly be with him and he spent most of his time working in his study or working out of the house. While he was at the house, he tried his best to take care of her needs. Yet he remained unaware of the other kind of needs growing in her. She herself was unaware of what it really was. She knew she loves being close to him and wants to be closer, she gets goosebumps even at the slightest bit of touch he offers her. She desired him. But the naive soul could not understand that.

It wasn't any different with Anirudh. He loved having her close to him and he wanted to have her closer, maybe hold her in his arms. He controlled himself for he did not wish to make her feel any kind of discomfort. But it was getting tough for him to continue this. He desired her and he understood that clearly, yet.tried keeping himself away from sinful thoughts as much as he could.

Just like this went away another week, with one trying to decipher her feelings and the other trying to control his.

It was a Thursday morning. The Roy Chowdhuries were having breakfast. The two family like servants, Koyli and Bihari were in the kitchen while Bondita who despite getting special treatment from everyone in the house, considered herself no different than them, was sat beside Anirudh on the dining table having her breakfast along with the other members of the family. That's when Anirudh stood up causing her to look up at him. She gulped down the last bite of her food and stood up a few seconds after him with her plate in one hand. She was about to pick his in her another hand but was interrupted by Anirudh.

“Bondita, Meri study mein jo laal file rakhi Hain desk par woh ladogi?” He asked looking down at her as she was shorter in height in comparison to him.

Bondita nodded with a small smile and left towards the study to get her Anirudh Babu his file.

Upon coming back to the dining area, she couldn't find him there.

“Bondita! Jaldi!" Yelled Anirudh from the hall.

She ran to the hall in haste, afraid of angering him. She had once seen him yelling at his assistant over God knows what and she definitely didn't ever want to be in his assistant's place.

She reached the hall and saw him a feet or two away from the entrance door of the haveli, engrossed in a conversation with his assistant.

She quickly ran towards, her anklets chiming, causing him to shift his gaze to her. Coming closer to him, she let out a shriek as she tripped over her saree.

Anirudh's eyes widened and he made a move to save her from falling flat on the floor when his assistant beat him to it as he was standing closer to her.

Anirudh stopped in his tracks and looked on as his Bondita fell into the arms of another man.

Author's note: how are y'all liking the story so far? Do you think I'm stretching it? Honestly, I understand that it's a short story and should not be stretched unnecessarily but I think all the chapters I have written so far help build the story and thus, are not unnecessary. Is it turning boring for you readers though?
