Bangladesh is free, finally!
But a lot has happened in one day. And most of it was disappointing. First of all, I'm assuming most of my readers are indians. I'd like to request you all to take to twitter and post with the #hindusaresafeinbangladesh.
Because Sheikh Hasina has gone, but not without a plan. Yes, minorities in Bangladesh did have to suffer today. But it is being blown out of proportion on twitter. What happened was saddening, which is exactly why local people and students started guarding religious places and homes. We are all one and this freedom is for everyone. Please help stop the spread of false news on twitter. They're using old pictures as well to misguide people. Keep your eyes on the news coming out of Bangladesh. Don't believe everything you see and do your research.
I want to say this to the people of my country too. We should all be ashamed at the way we celebrated victory. We should all be ashamed for the disrespect we've shown to Bongobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Did we forget what he did for the country? People who looted the country, the actual rajakars still live within us and we are disrespecting the man who led us to independence? Now don't say things like he did this he did that, he was not a good leader, he was a dictator. The hidden ‘facts’ you speak of are allegations. Most of which could never be proven. And the rest arose after he was killed. You really believe those who killed him, did what they did because he was a dictator, because they had good in their heart for the country? Bullshit. Murder can never be justified. He was warned supposedly multiple times that a plan to assassinate him was being formed, but he had refused to believe those warnings, trusting that bengalis would never harm him. We broke that trust, we failed him then and we have failed him now. Bongobondhu is called Bongobondhu for a reason. You and I were not there in his time, and those who were still love him to this day and what happened today surely did upset them. Do not forget his contribution. Do not bring shame to yourself. Remember, a dead man cannot rise from his grave to defend himself, so it is easy to defame him. We have done enough damage by assassinating the father of our nation, for which we were known as an ungrateful nation for a long while. What his daughter did is on her. We have no right to involve him in this. Whatever you do, good or bad, it's on you, not on your parents. Please, have some shame guys. It's not cool to vandalize, disrespectful behavior is not cool. It only shows the lack of morals and principles in you.
