For my readers that don't speak Bengali:

Betting on their lives, they have taken to the streets
They are willing to die for their rights
This country was bought with blood
This nation will not be overpowered by the fear of death

----

I'm not used to writing poems in Bangla but as a writer, this was the least I could do. Never felt more helpless. I still have not been able to get over the deaths. This will go on until we earn justice. Proud to be a Bangladeshi. We did not give up then. We will not give up now. To my Bangladeshi readers, please raise your voice. We raised our voice and it worked. Raise your voice and you will see the wonders it can do. I understand you might be scared, there could be family issues but sharing about the situation is needed. You may think what help will it do to share a post on social media? But remember, every bit of support counts.

Just today, I saw the PM questioning the logic behind the ongoing protests in the news. Yes, the quota system has been reformed but at what cost? At the cost of blood. At the cost of suffering. Why did we have to lose our brothers, our sisters? Why did mothers have to lose their sons, their daughters? Why are our teachers getting assaulted and arrested? Why are minors getting arrested? Why are artists getting arrested? Why is a sixteen year old in jail for Abu Sayed's (martyr)  murder, when there is video proof of the police shooting him to death? Where is the logic in that?

It is outrageous enough that they ask for logic while graves remain unnamed and hands remain bloodied. If not now, then when?

Another thing I'd like to make my Bangladeshi readers aware of is to not turn off the vpn on your device while sharing content regarding the protests And dial *#62# to see if your calls are being forwarded. If it shows a number after dialing this code, use the code ##002# to stop the forwarding of calls from your device. I did this after it showed a number my calls were being forwarded to. Although the chances of tracking are low, it's better to be safe.
