The first thing I noticed once we had warped was that we were in a very familiar location. We were in Refage once again. It seemed as if we were always being drawn to this universe for no particular reason. Anyways, I stood up and realized that we were in the back of the van. Gabby was driving us to some unknown place and I was pissed because she tried to steal my van.
"Alright, listen to me right now. You are going to turn this van back around so that we can have a nice little talk," I said, trying to be calm.
"I don't think so. I am heading home so that I can get my stuff," she said.
"Wesley, is that you? I think I landed on my face," Philip said, finally waking up.
"Philip, hold on to something. Van, head home," I commanded. The van suddenly began to turn around in the direction from which we came.
"Van, head to Tweakit Apartment Complex," Gabby said to the van. The van turned around to go to its original destination.
"Listen to me whatever your name is, I don't care if you're my sister or not. You can't just steal my van to transport yourself home," I explained.
"Well you can't tell me what to do. Just because you saved the multiverse a couple of times, doesn't mean you're my boss. Besides, my name's Gabby," she responded.
"The more you guys argue, the more I'm starting to believe that she's our sister," Philip told me.
"Why do you say that?" I asked.
"She's just as sassy as you were when we were kids," Philip said.
"Listen, I'll drop you guys off back at your house when I'm done okay?" Gabby asked.
"Alright fine, but when we get back the van stays with me," I answered. The van began to slow down as we began to approach a series of buildings.
"Where the heck are we?" I asked her.
"This is Tweakit Apartment complex," she said as she began to park the van. The second Gabby put the van in park; I jumped out of the van and puked all over the ground. I hate dimensional warping.
"You alright?" Philip asked.
"Yeah I'm okay," I replied. Philip and I both followed Gabby to where she was staying. People stared at us like they were planning to do horrible things to us. I definitely didn't want to stick around to find out. As we neared the door of Gabby's apartment, she turned to look at us.
"If you guys touch anything, I will kill you," she said as she pulled her keys from her pocket.
"I think we should keep our distance for now," Philip whispered to me. We entered Gabby's apartment and I was taken aback by how small her place was. She made her way through the apartment, leaving us by the door.
"Philip do you have your phone on you?" I asked.
"Yes I do," Philip said, pulling out his phone.
"Call Sarah and tell her we're going to be late getting back," I told him. As Philip dialed Sarah's number, Gabby appeared with a drawstring backpack on.
"Alright, I'm ready to drop you idiots off," she said, fixing the strings on her bag. I began to wonder what was so important that Gabby had to come back and retrieve it when there was a knock on the door. I opened the door to find a robot staring back at me.
"Hello there, me name is Jimmy. I am looking for Gabby," said the robot. Before I could respond, Gabby pushed past me.
"Jimmy, I'm sorry to say but I forgot about us hanging out," she said, not sounding sad.
"It's okay because now we can play games," Jimmy responded. I felt bad for the robot because he seemed a little slow.
"I can't right now Jimmy because I'm going somewhere right now," Gabby explained as we made our way out of the apartment.
"Maybe I can help you with what you are doing. I am very handy and helpful," Jimmy said to Gabby as he began to follow us.
"Hey that girl owes rent!" someone yelled as he began to make his way towards us.
"Is that guy yelling at us? If he is, I hate to see what he's going to do to us," Philip exclaimed as we all began to run towards the van. When I turned to look back towards the rent collector, I saw that he was running towards us with a couple of muscular bouncers.
"I hate to be the one to say this but if we don't start running like hell, we're all going to be dead real quick," I yelled to the others as we approached the van. I instantly jumped into the driver's seat as the others piled into the back. Looking through the rear view mirror, I could see that the bouncer dudes were starting to catch up. "Hang on to something," I exclaimed as I pressed the warp button.
"Can I have a seat belt?" Jimmy asked from the back.
"Here you go, use this," Philip said as he threw some rope towards the robot.
"I really hope you're kidding," Jimmy responded as he kicked the rope away. The van began to spin as a warp tunnel appeared and the van drove straight into it.
"I'm so glad we made it out," Gabby said as she exhaled.
"I don't know if this is a good time to mention this, but I have robot brain cell cancer," Jimmy said out of nowhere.
"Can you explain what that is exactly?" Philip asked him.
"My digital brain is beginning to slowly break down. I may say or do things that will happen at random," Jimmy answered.
"That doesn't sound good," Philip replied.
"It really isn't. Do you think I can have some French fries now?" Jimmyasked.
