Displayed above Allen McCarthy was a mounted
TV on a wall, showing the entire building of the magic department. He was fond of his plan he had made, with the help of Socrates geniuses.

There had never been a successful raid, let alone a raid at all of the building in its entire 400 year old existence. It seemed crazy to invade the huge, eighteen story building, yet he was doing it, clicking on his walkie-talkie.

"Hello? This is unit Allen McCarthy, reporting for duty. The office is mostly empty, 'cept for two security guards and one Sebastian Brown." The thought of Sebastian Brown made him sick. His insides twisted and turned, when Zeus answered, his booming voice ringing in the device.

"We are on our way. You see us? Practically outside the doors." Zeus tried to whisper. His voice was too loud even for a whisper. As he spoke he was displayed clearly on the screen, with his partner Socrates. They picked a specific day where most of the important officials were on a break, so that left three people in the room, and soon they would be in control. After years of being nothing but an afterthought, the day had finally come.

"Let's blow this popsicle stand." Socrates mentioned as he took out two skinny grenades from his backpack and a wand. He handed one of the skinny grenades to Zeus, and gripped his radio.

"It's go time, boss." Socrates slammed the doors open, unzipping the grenade and dropping it in front of the security guards, coughing amongst the smoke. They were gas grenades, only meant to stun there breathing and eyesight.

The room was large, with the desk of Sebastian in the middle, surrounded by bookshelves full of gracious library books of his collection. Some were special edition, and in next to those were racks of archives, lined up one to one.

Surprisingly, as the operation was going down, Ivan jump scared Allen, who jumped when the door opened. Ivan looked in disbelief at Allen. The same room years ago had held a massive fight, where Allen had been fired.

Now it was just them, and Allen knew exactly what he was going to do as he balled his fist.

"Allen... it's been a while. Do you know where Mr. Francisco-" Ivan didn't expect a beefy fist to come hurling at him, but Allen's weight combined with his drunken movements easily let Ivan dodge the fast throw at his face. He backed to the left in shock, but the brawl wasn't over. Allen pulled a gun from his pockets, and aimed the gun at Ivan's brittle head.

"Listen to me, little Ive. Do you love your family? Do you dearly want to see your two little daughters? I've heard she is the most beautiful 13 year old girl. Would be a shame if her dad went missing..." McCarthy taunted, admiring his cherished gun that glistened in the lights, reflecting off the TV. There was an evil tint in his eye as he looked at Ivan.

"They'll I'll find out what you did. They will arrest you, and send you to prison forever. You can't get away this easy." Ivan argued, but it only fueled the mad, heartless instinct of McCarthy, who loaded the gun and aimed it at Ivan.

"I have my ways, buddy. Now listen to me, I want you to set off a false alarm at the furthest top floor. Is that clear?" McCarthy smirked, adjusting the sleeves on his arm.

"And if not?" McCarthy was tired of Ivan's bickering and stomped on his ankle, causing him to shiver up. There was a sharp crack, and they we're both sure Ivan's ankle had broken.

"We don't want to go there. Be on your way now. Make it snappy." Ivan limped on one leg and exited the room with grief, as a grainy voice came through the fat radio positioned on the desk. Furious, Allen McCarthy ran over to hear the news.

"We gottem' boss. He's right here." Zeus exclaimed. Allen's face lit up, and his anger disappeared as he looked up at the screen, to see a gun aimed at Sebastians head, who was staring anxiously at his computer screen. Everything seemed to be going well, except for the fact that Ivan had ruined the watch party. Everything had been patched up, and the words came out of Allen's mouth with happiness. "Kill him."

Obeying his boss, Zeus clicked the gun, alarming Sebastian and his silvery hair and crinkled skin.

"I expect your going to be killing me, my old friend." Sebastian nodded at Zeus, still staring at his computer screen. Zeus ignored the question and his guiltily stepped forward.

"Well, Allen. I'm sorry I was better at your job then you. Honestly you really could've used some education. That amulet job was really something, wasn't it?" Sebastian smirked. Allen knew exactly what he was talking about, flashing back to fifteen years ago when the whole department was screaming over boxes of documents. Fumes were practically spraying from his ears, and he slammed his hand against the desk. Just when things couldn't get any worse, an alarm went off, and when Zeus looked over to see the commotion, a fight between Socrates and the security guards, Sebastian snatched the gun. Now Zeus was on the opposite end of the trigger.

And the cherry on top was the sound of shuffling and hinges unraveling as Ivan came at full force with a document in his hand. During Allen's prime he could easily dodge the oncoming attack, but to his alcohol use he was slow and the archive sank straight into his face, knocking out a chip from his teeth.

The plan crumbled horrendously, and there dreams of leading the department ended in pain and misery. That was only the start of there story.

The next hour was the most hectic of his life, except for when his car was crushed and he spent endless days in the hospital. William sat cross legged in the waiting room as medical staff occasionally upgraded his mom state. Surprisingly, she got into a terrible Coma and Hannah suddenly snapped, starting to pack all her stuff up.

"What're you doing?" Rob asked, standing up from his musty chair as she gathered her belongings.

"What does it look like I'm doing? I'm leaving the place. William your coming with me. We need to discuss something now." Hannah ordered, starting to walk through the hospital doors.

"What? How are you gonna do that? We have no vehicle, and William is not leaving his mother's side!" Rob gestured towards a mildly innocent and sleepy William, nestled comfortably in the hospital chair.

"William, you have to trust me. Believe me. I'll explain later. We need to leave now." Hannah started to order him up, but Rob made a gap between them and sheltered William like Hannah was a ticking time bomb.

"William, have you ever noticed that you'd had terrible luck ever since you got here?" Hannah asked, ignoring Robs forceful move. She peered over Robs shoulder. William didn't answer, instead he blankly looked at Hannah.

"And Rob. Ever noticed that anyone who deliberately comes to this small town gets into accidents and are forced to leave? Remember Henry?" William had no idea where Hannah was taking this and neither did Rob, but Rob had a clear memory of Henry. Out of the few times people had decided to pack it up and move here, they did end up in disaster, but Henrys was the worst. First he got into a car wreck, much like William , then soon after a suspicious tornado wiped through a small portion of the county which ended up severely injuring Henry. Several days later he was pronounced dead. It was a huge phenomenon around the town, and everyone was talking about it when it first happened.

"What are you talking about Hannah? Why are we bringing Henry into this?" Rob shouted, stepping towards Hannah curiously. This promoted William to stand up, as his interest was piqued.

"Who- who's Henry?" William wondered, confused and cheeks still red from all his tears.

"It doesn't matter. Hannah I don't know what you're suggesting, but I knew you were trouble when we met you. Don't even-"

"Meet me outside, in the chiefs car. We're going now." Without any more words, she left the waiting room through the doors, and in disbelief, Rob and William looked at each other.

"Shouldn't we follow her, Rob?" Still standing, William pointed towards the doors as the room was now empty and still gloomy as ever.

"What have I got left Rob? My moms gonna die. Might as well let it go. I'm gonna get sent off to some orphanage, get some foster parents or something. I'm sorry, but I'm leaving."

Williams decision was final. He grabbed his bags and Rob tried to grab his shoulder and pull him back, but it was pointless. William was long gone, and Rob just sat and thought about what was going to happen next.
