As all witches and wizards knew that they would spend there lives locked inside an office building hidden away from the human world, confined into one little space except for when they would be needed in minor missions. It was a boring life to most, and not how they would like to spend there entire human existence on.

Hannah's family was one of a few that left from there small apartment heavily guarded by security. It wasn't an easy escape of course. Hannah wasn't even born at the time, but her older brother was.Her family said he was only three, but when they were leaving the apartment the department owned, the child was taken and probably tortured then killed.

They didn't talk about him much, she didn't even know his name. She had just half of a plastic tag displaying his name, with the other half missing. She kept it on her at all times, no matter the circumstance. It held dear meaning to her.

She made sure none of the boys had followed her as she entered into a tavern, or preferably bunker to wizards and witches who had escaped the far drive from the department, like a refugee camp of sorts.

It had whimsical items, like new wands and books of wizardry, wild animals like baby Fangooks, annoying flying creatures. It had special candy, and other necessities.

Hannah order one Trotus Coke, a special Cola infused with Trotus, boosting your energy. She was going to need it if she was driving all night.

"That will be three dollars ma'am." The cashier said, typing the words into a cash register. He then watched as Hannah fluffed through her purse, revealing a mint condition five and handed it to the cashier.

"Here you go." She politely remarked, as he handed her two dollars in change and went to the back to make his concoction.

This was risky business, as if the department found you there would sure be plenty of deaths, and no one would be left safe. In a matter of a few minutes, she was sitting at a lonely table, looking around at the empty crowed and sipping her coke slowly, feeling a massive kick of energy.

Hannah counted the money she had on the table, overlooking each cent and spreading them out. As she placed her coke down, there was a screech outside.

Without saying anything, she knew who it was and without hesitation grabbed her wand and ran outside, tucking it in her back pocket.

Just minutes earlier, William sat in the front on the car, slumped over the front of the car and looking at the moon overhead, as the only sound was crickets chirping outside.

"Isn't it weird that she just got up and left?" William suggested as he looked back at a tired Rob nearly asleep, sprawled across the backseat. William sighed and looked back at the moon.

"It's like... she's hiding something from us, don't you think?" William said anyways, ignoring the fact Rob was asleep and shrugged.

"Why would she do that? Is she always like this? So annoying and secretive." William passive-aggressively kicked the car, and laid back in his car seat. He cupped his hands over his face.

William shook his head, then following he opened the car door and stepped into the musty night air and took it all in while practically steaming.

"What- what are you doing? William?" Robert awoke from his sleep and wiped his eyes, unbuckling his seatbelt.

"I'm going to see what Hannah is doing." William said, making Rob push his door open and face down William.

"It doesn't matter, just let her do what she wants man." Rob threw his hands up, agreeing with Ms. Goody two shoes for once.

"Are you siding with that girl? Really? I'm gonna find out what she's doing." William scoffed and continued walking down the path filled with dead leaves and small frail sticks.

"It's ok, just let her be." Rob spoke, grabbing his wrist and trying to guide him back like a toddler, making William push Rob off.

"You don't need to tell me what to do." William snapped back, walking backwards towards the tavern to Robs dismay. William followed close to him.

"It doesn't even matter anymore. Just wait until she gets back, it won't be long." Robert assured, as William backed up onto a chipped up bridge in front of the tavern, which creaked.

"I just want to check on what she's doing, no harm in that is there?" William laughed, as he took a few more steps onto the short bridge.

"You're gonna slip into the current!" Robert said, looking at the rough current which violently whipped against the rocks and pushed downstream in a aggressive manner. After Robert finished his sentence, the ground beneath William gave way, and fell through the hole. His quick thinking let him grab hold of a loose piece of wood sticking from the broken bridge and he was able to cling on.

"Help!" William screamed, his feet touching the rapid waters and getting his clothes wet. The wood bended, but Rob was faster and outstretched his hand for William.

"Hang on!" Robert called, leaning against the wooden stakes plunged into the ground to help keep the broken bridge down. William left one hand to grab onto Robs hand, leaving his vulnerable.

Before he could grasp Robs hand, the wooden stick broke and he fell into the waters and was quickly pulled into the stream, making his scream loudly. A few seconds later, Hannah came bursting out of the Tavern, and was led to believe that William had traveled downstream by the horror on Robs face, pointing at the river.

Despite everything she stood for, she grabbed the wand from her pocket, pointing her magic wand at the river. To Rob and Williams surprise, she lifted William from the loose waters, and cast him onto land all with the help of her wand.

"You- you're a wizard!" Robert screamed, leaning against the wooden stake to process the information he just analyzed.

"Shut up!" Hannah whispered, jumping over the winding river and onto the other side, letting William recover.

"And also it's a witch." She said nonchalantly and tossing her wand into her back pocket and wiping her hands against her jeans.

"You saved me! I knew you were hiding something, I was right!" William jumped with joy despite him being completely soaked in water.

"Congratulations genius, but you nearly died." Chill, Hannah approached the car and started it, flashing the lights. Rob collapsed onto the floor and tried to think about her.

"Wait, how? Is this how you knew about the Amulets? Why did you lie?" William started accusing, throwing off his soaked pants and shirt, including his socks and shoes.

"It's hard to explain, but if I told you, the department would attack you. The department of magic, who controls the information humans know about us." Hannah nodded, as William stormed in front of the car, shirtless and pant-less, hair drenched evenly in water.

"We're already going to die by the people who killed old Ms. Krause or whatever, it didn't matter if you told us or not." William yelled aloud, kicking the police car angrily and pacing.

"Get in the car. We're doing this for you and your mother, not for us. Get that buddy?" Hannah screamed, blasting the horn and taking a long and drawn out breath.

William grabbed his pants, shirt, and socks and threw them on the top, while Rob sat in the back, still in awe of her skill. She backed out from the surroundings, then got onto the main road to continue to the airport.

"And also, uh, get yourself some new clothes dude." She recalled in disgust, as they zoomed on the empty roads of some empty New Jersey land.
