It was a Thursday evening, and Rob and William and done there usual goofing off. Throwing rocks, chasing squirrels, and generally stirring up trouble. They were marching through the barren woods alone, only the sound of birds chirping and crickets clicking.

There foot stepped on skinny sticks and there was an eerie feeling in the air, something they couldn't put there finger on.

"I don't like the feel of this." William said, as they caught sight of a large abandoned construction site, completed with a large beams and wooden structuring that was now at risking of collapsing.

"Really? You're scared of this?" Rob giggled, as he stepped over railing to enter into the site. There was loose pieces of wood everywhere and grass sprouted from the ground in the most random places.

"Maybe." William felt the ceiling, and the wood was damp and unsafe. He tried to act tough and focused on what they were doing.

"It's nothing." Rob turned his head towards William, when suddenly a board from above him fell down right in front of him.

"You were saying?" William laughed but Rob didn't find it funny as he took a careful step over the broken piece of wood. Good thing he hadn't taken a step forward earlier, or the nail sticking out of the board might have gone into his head.

"Do you hear that?" Rob listened closely, and William listened too. There were steps coming from somewhere.

"We should leave. I don't think I want to risk a ghost snatching us up." William started turning towards the door, when Rob grabbed him.

"You're not leaving me here!" Rob whispered, as the footsteps got closer and closer to there location. They heard a creaking sound and Rob's grip on William grew tighter and William pushed him away.

Rob closed his eyes but there fears were flown away when they caught Hannah, in a braid and holding a book, laughing at the state of them.

"What are you on about?" Hannah could barely contain her laughter as Rob realized it was only her. He sighed and hit his hand against the wall.

"Very funny." Rob laughed sarcastically, leaning against a metal beam which shifted after he laid against it, causing him to back off.

"What are you here for?" William tried to act cool with her, but not too over the top so she would get the hint he had a crush on her.

"It's good to be alone sometimes. And I like peace and quiet so I could read my book." Hannah informed, as she fiddled with a splinter in the wall.

"As if our small town wasn't enough isolation." Rob groaned, rolling his eyes. He wasn't the biggest fan of Hannah despite that sick move she pulled on Bill a few days back. Hannah was the biggest suck up.

"Do you ever mind your business Rob?" Hannah snarled, narrowing her eyes at the lanky boy.

"You've got a big mouth for a small girl." Rob snapped back, but Hannah chose to ignore him and stepped forward, closing her book.

"Why are you guys here?" Hannah placed her book on the counter, and looked uncertain about her surroundings.

"I don't know, to cause trouble maybe." William said, as if it was obvious.

"Well you can leave now. This is my spot." Hannah grabbed her book back off the counter and walked back towards the exit.

"Nice little scheme you pulled on Monday." William smiled a bit, and she smiled back.

"Well thank you." Hannah turned back when suddenly a car pulled into the front of the abandoned house, red and blue lights flashing. None of them said a word as it was obvious who it was.

"Cops." Rob ran up a spot fit for a window, and a officer was stepping out of his vehicle. It was definitely the police, that was certain.

"We're so screwed." Hannah panicked, looking from beside the wall.

"What are you standing around for? Go into the back and escape or we'll all be caught." Rob shouted, looking at the others as if they were crazy. He grabbed Williams shirt and pulled along while the sirens rang aloud in the evening light. The moon had just started to arise, so there was just enough light to illuminate there steps.

They were in the middle of nowhere, so running into the woods would mean being lost in the middle of nowhere. It was better than being arrested though, so that was there plan. Unfortunately, William tripped on a board, and he hit the ground hard.

"We're not seriously running from the cops are we?" Hannah suggested as the cop was almost into the house, which Rob barely saw as he helped William up.

"You want to be in prison, Hannah?" Rob growled. That was enough to keep her quiet, and she bit on her nails. Rob and William hid behind the wall on the outside, as the police officer had made it inside. Hannah had hesitantly joined them, and William picked up a stone.

"What are you doing with that?" Hannah whispered, trying to grab it so William wouldn't do something dumb. But William made a smart move, as he chucked it into the bushes on there left.

Rob had caught on as the cop made it outside. He had a flashlight, and he shined it into the bushes as he walked towards the foliage. Rob made the dash for the forest and William and Hannah followed. The cop had heard the commotion.

"Get back here!" The cop ordered, but the kids were on there way, pushing past foliage.

"I'm gonna be so dead." William chuckled, as Hannah looked frightened. They made it to a pond, where they tripped and fell in. They all crashed in and got soaked.

"My clothes are ruined thanks to you guys. I look like a mess!" Hannah cried out, and a burst of light was flashed there direction. The cop pushed past a tree and nearly fell in the water.

"There you are." The cop took a pair of handcuffs from his belt and walked around the pool of water, and Hannah seems furious.

"Do you know what you're in trouble for? Trespassing private property. You have the right to remain silent." Rob gave an ugly look to the cop as he shackled Rob. The brush of adrenaline had gone away now, and he realized they were in big trouble.
