It didn't take a genius to figure out what was happening. You could what was happening by the sounds of teenagers giggling and the engine rumbling. Chandler was in the drivers seat, and Jake and Bill on the concrete. They both had stocky figures and bulging muscles displaying there veins. Jake had nothing and Bill had a bat. It would be bad to come across them, especially in a bad mood. But these circumstances were inevitable.
Hannah was quick to make a move, opening the door and stepping into the air. It was around 11, and the moon just about peaked in sky, giving them a clear view of each other.
"Well, well, well. Look at who we have here. Little Ms. Perfect at old grandmas house. How sweet." He stepped forward menacingly onto her pavement.
"I'll call the police. Get away from me." She threatened. At the wrong moment, Rob, William, and Ms. Crainer all stepped out from the door and joined her side.
"And you brought your friends of course. How delightful." He took a few more paces towards on the driveway, leaning against the police car.
"Don't touch that. It ain't yours." Hannah yelled, stepping forward so that they were only a couple feet away.
"It ain't yours either. Call the police, see what they will do." He sneered, then pointed that bat at her chest.
"Don't touch her!" William shouted, running across the pavement to break the ever building tension between the two.
"Don't worry. I'll touch you instead." With that, Bill kicked Williams shin and pulled the bat back, as to rear up and fight. Soon Jake was running across the pavement too.
All hell was about to break loose. Hannah lunged at her former boyfriend pushing him back with a kick. He took his bat back and missed her by inches, denting the car.
"Get your prissy little hands away from me." He hissed, as Jake came to his side. He approached William, who missed his shirt trying to punch him and was hit hard. Blood leaked from his nose violently, and Rob came to the rescue. He jumped in and tackled Jake, as Chandler roared the engine, bustling with life.
"Shut up dickwad." Hannah screamed. He aimed at Bill with her first, but Bill just gripped it and kneed her stomach. She fell back in pain.
William clambered off the ground, and punched Bills shoulder. He barely moved, and William realized he was severely outmatched. Bill grabbed William by the throat and start choking him. Tears welled up in Williams eyes, as he tries to find his breath.
Chandler reared his car back, while Rob was on top of Jake, beating him up with his fist. He smashed it into his face over and over, finally giving him up when he seemed unconscious. He stood up to see what he had done. Blood was streaming everywhere, and Rob looked back at his friends.
He tried to tackle Bill, but only got elbowed in the face, stumbling backwards. This gave William an opportunity to knee Bill back, and doing so William was flung backwards into a tree by Bill. He tried to escape into the driveway, but tripped and fell onto the concrete. Blood was spilling everywhere, but they had no time to mess around.
Bill started walking towards William, arms ready. Bill threw a punch, hitting William on his side and that gave an easy headlock. Suddenly Chandler threw in the breaks and thrusted his car forwards at William.
As Chandler was preparing to take out William, there was a gunshot heard, and the front window smashed into a million pieces. Before Chandler could realize what was going on, he barely missed Rob and hit the same tree William was pushed into. Ms. Crainer arrived from the door and tossed the shotgun to Hannah.
Bill scattered away into the truck, and him and Chandler made a quick getaway.
"Are you guys ok? It doesn't matter. You guys need to go now. ASAP." She shooed them off into there car, kissing Hannah goodbye. As they left, she nearly forgot the book and handed it to them.
When they were finally gone, she sighed and ran back into the house. She remembered to lock the doors, and headed to the living room. On top of her fireplace was a wooden shelf, with a large plastic case. Carefully and gracefully, she grabbed the case and laid it onto her table. She unlocked the buttons, gaining access to the cases contents. She lifted it up, revealing an old, extremely rusty Remington.*Allen turned the radio up louder as they drove in a warn down car. Zeus sat in the passenger, and Socrates in the back, holding a sniper rifle and cleaning its edges. There was a weird aura, like a disorganized family with major issues.
"You guys enjoying these tunes?" Allen chuckled as classical radio music played through the speakers. The pressure was intense, as there entire job was on the line right now. If they failed to capture this stupid book they would be fired yet again and thrown back in jail. They would start back there normal routine as usual and would face many more years to come in prison.
"Could you just take this seriously? Our lives depend on this, we're getting that book anyway we can." Zeus commented, resting his hand on his chin and looking out from his window.
"I am. Just trying to lighten the mood. We've done it before, we just need to do it again." Allen fired back, making a sharp left turn.
"Don't you think it's a big dangerous entering into Springfield?" Socrates looked up from his gun and at Allen, who looked in the rear view mirror.
"People employed at the Department aren't hit with some devious curse. It won't affect us. Unless we get fired of course." Allen responded cheerfully. As he pulled into the town square, he peered at all the commotion. Police lights were going off, everyone was in a jumble.
"Hold on." Allen made a smart move to park the car a bit ways away and casually making his way over there, trying to blend in and look normal. He didn't go in missions that much, but when he did they were usually short, maybe 2-3 days. He was hoping they could track down whoever had the books, kill them, and finally erase the evidence once and for all. Nobody would even know he was there.
"Hello sir. Anything I could help you with?" The officer had a name tag that said Trevor on his shirt, and blood stained his shoulder. He held a fresh apple in his hand and tossed it up and down.
"I was wondering if you could please explain what happened here?" Allen asked as the deputy looked over at the building, 27 story tall.
"Some lady had a stroke, and she was sent to the hospital. Some kids thought it would be funny if they tried to rob her house I guess, ended up getting away. Now we're stuck here until we interview every single person who was there at the crime scene." Deputy Trevor complained, looking over at the officers interviewing casual people.
"Who were those kids? What did they look like?" Allen asked, now getting into the juicy stuff. It seemed simple enough; they already had a lead.
"Why do you want to know?" Trevor asked, biting into an apple and munching loudly. Juice squirted from his mouth and onto Allen.
"Me? Oh, well err, I'm a news reporter." Allen blurted the first thing he could think of, and rolled with it.
"Well that information is confidential." Trevor explained, biting another large chunk out of his apple.
"Well, I really need the news. Please? Anything? I have money actually. How does 100 dollars sound." Allen lied, now desperate for any knowledge that he can collect.
"Alright, I see. Well actually, one has strawberry blondish hair, soft, wavy. A bit round. There was a girl with wavy blondish brown hair and a boy with much of the same, a big shorter. You didn't hear this from me, but apparently they were tracked down to Ms. Crainers house, not to far from. Just go down that road, take a right, a left, then at the very end." He nodded, putting his and out for money. Allen flipped through his money, then suddenly turned and darted for the car. Trevor was quick, and started dashing after him.
Zeus saw the commotion and yelled at Socrates as Allen rushed for the car. He hopped inside, and backed up from the road quickly, turning onto a long strip of road for Ms. Crainers house.
"We have a lead boys." He huffed. "A lady's house. Ms. Crainer." They cruised down the road to reach there destination.
