Now that you know how Sigyn meet her demise, I think it's only fair that we go into more detail about her early life. Starting with the years after her unfortunate encounter with death.

PART II

Iwaldi Njordson was not a superstitious person. He tended not to believe in the myths people told of the prophecies that foretold two great entities one pure good and the other pure evil. Although he ignored the stories, Iwaldi could not ignore the scene he saw one day while walking in the gardens.

On his usual afternoon stroll, the man had seen his young daughter alone admiring the greenery. At first he decided to let her be, she was often running off but did herself no harm, besides he was near by if anything happened.

Iwaldi looked away from the child for a moment. A moment he would regret. When he turned back, immediate panic took over him. A tall, skeleton like creature stood over the girl, its hand was pressed firmly to her forehead as it murmured something he could not make out.

The man ran as fast as his legs would carry him to the scene. The creature disappeared in a dark puff black smoke. He ran to his infant child who lay motionless on the ground. Quickly checking her pulse he determined that she was alive. Only then did he notice the dark tendrils moving slowly down her arms, imprinting themselves in her skin. He pushed down her sleeves promptly and began to panic even more than he had previously.

The stories his parents had told him as a child flooded his mind. One in particular taking over, the dark angel, the purest form of evil to ever exist. He remembered the markings the angel carried, dark tendrils on their arms as he saw on his daughter now and a black tattoo like mark on their back that would come to life as wings.

He gently turned the girl over and unbuttoned the first few buttons on her dress, to his horror, Iwaldi was met with the depiction of dark feathers drawn on the childs back. He fastened the buttons again and picked Sigyn up, carrying her inside to the nurse.

Over the next few weeks Iwaldi searched desperately for a cure, to help his daughter and restore peace but with no success. The only conclusion he kept returning too was that she would tear the universe apart, starting with those closest to her and ending with herself. He could not bear to think of it.

Sigyn escaped her governess one sunny morning and ran down a differnt path this time. Iwaldi could not live with what he believed to be his own failure. Sigyn raced to the bridge that crossed the raging river that ran through their land. Iwaldi walked calmly towards the edge of the bridge. Sigyn reached the bridge and stopped abruptly.

Iwaldi reached the edge and stood up on the wall, looking down at the deep waters below the extensive drop. Sigyn watched her father looking down at the waters, oblivious to his intentions. Iwaldi looked around once more at his property, unaware that his young daughter watched from afar. Sigyn turned and ran back to seek help. Iwaldi let himself fall from the bridge and into the cold waters below.

hen Sigyn returned to the bridge with her mother, brother and several guards there was no evidence left of her father.

Sigyn's mother would always blame her daughter for her husbands death. At first it was subconscious but it soon became evident in her treatment of the middle child. The public were told that Iwaldi died under tragic circumstances and no more was said about the matter. Sigyn confined in her older brother of what she saw eventually, he did not blame her. She did blame herself.

Lavinia was barley born at the time and would grow up with no memory of her father what so ever. She was fed the same lie that his death was tragic and that was all. Her siblings never told her the truth. Ignorance is bliss.

Ignorance was bliss.
