Heaven and Hell have been at war since the beginning of time. Once every millennium both sides choose a child, in which they bestow powers of light from heaven and darkness from hell, when they are old enough the golden sorceress and the dark angel...
By the time the train came to a stop the occupants of that paticular carriage were well acquainted. Lily had quickly began to find James and Sirius insufferable and Sigyn had to admit, their egos were suffocating. Severus had stayed fairly silent for the entire thing, only really talking to Lily. Peter was pretty quite too but Sirius dragged him into debates every so often. As it turned out Lily and Severus grew up together while Peter and Sirius had only meet at the train station like James and Sigyn.
They rowed across the lake too the castle and all settled down near enough to each other as they waited to be sorted. Sirius was sorted first and immediately landed in Gryffindor, Sigyn really couldn't tell if he was delighted or despaired by his result. Next went Peter who sat under the hat for a full five minutes before he too was sent to Gryffindor. Sigyn was next and went to the same house as the other two. Although the hat took it's time with her as well and considered putting her in slytherin but settled at last on the lion themed house.
She sat down beside Sirius and Peter, with another boy beside her. He introduced himself as Remus Lupin and seemed kind, when James joined them he too took a shine to the scarred boy and he was quickly adopted to the newly formed group. Lily went and was sorted into the house of bravery as well, much to her disappointment considering Severus was sent to Slytherin and the two friends were now apart.
Once the ceremony was completed the others properly introduced themselves to Remus and the boy with him, Peter Pettigrew. A feast appeared before them and all conversation ceased.
After the first term of school, the year flew by. Lady Iwaldi had made it clear that she did not wish for her daughter to return until the year was up leaving Sigyn to spend Christmas at the school. When summer did roll around goodbyes were said, while most seemed glad to return home Sirius and Severus were clearly not. Severus had separated from the original group early on, befriending other Slytherins, not very friendly ones at that. Lily seemed to be the only one who was still close to him. Sigyn made polite conversation occasionally, she did not despise him as the boys seemed to.
Getting of the train back at King cross station the girl found Oliver waiting for her again. His face broke out into a large smile when he saw his younger sister exit the train. He lifted her trunk easily from her hands, where she had been dragging it with obvious effort. Being fourteen Sigyn thought he must be awfully mature now. He greeted her and they talked of the year on their way home. Arriving back on Vanheim, they were greeted by an excited Lavinia, along side their mother who wore an indifferent expression.
The summer passed in a blur of hot days, warm nights, balls and party's. The occasional visits from the Asgardians made said balls slightly more bearable. Loki seemed to find earth magic hilarious, namely the superiority wizards seemed to think they held over the rest of the human race due to their abilities, entirely oblivious of course to the extent of the universe's magic arts. Well beyond that of a human Witch or Wizard.
When the end of the summer rolled around, Oliver and Sigyn found themselves back at the station waiting for the Hogwarts Express. This time however, they were meet again with the potter family, along with the Pettigrews and the Lupins. The Blacks kept their distance as per usual but Sirius did attempt a wave when he was free form Walburgas watchful eye for a fleeting second. They eventually boarded the train and let it carry them to Hogwarts. This year the carriage was lacking Severus Snape but had gained three more girls named Marlene, Dorcas and Mary. All perfectly pleasant people.
The next few years passed in a very similar matter but began to go downhill in their fourth year when news of a war broke out. The student's were unaffected by this at first until Sirius began to voice his concerns for his family position in the war. Particularly his younger brother Regulas. Sigyn did not know the younger black all that well but she had pity for his all the same. He was rude and arrogant when in the presence of other Slytherins (He got into the family house, much to his claims delight and Sirius' dismay) but when he spoke to his brother or mother he was timid and quite. He probably would have been a lovely person, Sigyn thought, it was his unfortune of the family he was born into that would eventually corrupt him.
Regulas was eventually pulled over to the dark side with the other Blacks, aside from Sirius and Andromeda. Sigyn turned fifteen in Scotland and began to notice something odd with her magic it. It was more powerful, when she used it there was a desperate burning sensation within, begging to be released. After this feeling persisted throughout the term she retreated to the library to find out exactly what the problem was. After extensive hours of research she came to the dreaded conclusion that she was in fact the golden sorceress. It seemed a bold conclusion at first but after a moment of complantation she thought it could not be more outrageous than the while dark angel thing she already had going on. The book from which she had retracted the information had been one on Norse mythology. It had also had another terrifying passage that shook the young girl to the core.
The golden sorceress is the embodiment of good while the dark angel this the pure opposite, the embodiment of evil. Every millennium a child is born with the powers of the golden sorceress, in that same millennium Lucifer will choose his Dark Angel. The Golden sorceress exists with the sole purpose of bringing about eternal peace to the multiverse, the dark angel exists to prevent that and bring about eternal darkness. The one must defeat to other by tearing their soul apart to complete their own goal.
Not a wonderful proposition for the teenager to face.
