Saturday night, Melody was trying to decide which dress would be more appropriate to go to a bar with Martha.

After twenty minutes on the phone, her friend had manage to convince her to get out of her house. Martha could be really stubborn and convincing sometimes.

In the end, Melody opted to wear dark jeans with a black tank top. Mel was struggling with the black heels that matched her outfit, when the door bell rang, resounding through her apartment. Startled with the sudden ring, she hurriedly forced her feet into the heels and got up quickly. She grabbed her jacket and purse and went down to meet Martha.

She looked at her friend's outfit. A beautiful black dress was hugging Martha's body in all right places showing her curves in a seductive way. Both friends shared the taste for black clothes.

"Wow! Are you sure you have a boyfriend? Or are you going on a hunt tonight" She teased Martha.

Her friend smiled widely.
"Andrew loves the way I dress even if it's to go out without him. And talking about boyfriends... You look hot and you sure are stunning tonight, so maybe we can find someone to make you company in the cold nights. You know... Someone that can make you hot chocolate in the cold nights, that goes to bed with you and do wicked things under the sheets..." Martha winked at Mel.

Melody shrugged.
"I'm not interest in having some relationship right now." She replied.

"Who talked about a serious one?"
Mel could only laugh at her friend.

They walked to a bar near her home. The place had a welcoming air around it. The walls were full of pictures of rock bands. The tables were a shade of dark brown and the seat were red. A dark mysterious place. 'Guns n roses' was playing in the background and Melody smiled thinking it was the perfect bar for her. Since her younger years, Melody was a fan of the rock band.

They asked for their drinks and then sat on one of the tables in the corner.

Melody and Martha spent the hours talking about their week and the prospects of their future.

"Andrew asked me to go live with him." Martha blurted out, looking at her friend to see the reaction.

"That's good news!! You've been together for how long? Two years now? I think it's time to make some advances." Melody was excited with the news.

She new Martha was nervous about that, but Andrew was a great guy so she saw no reason to delay the opportunity to share a house.

"Yes but what if we don't fit living together?" Her friend's brows furrowed. Melody could see that Martha was full of doubts, which was normal, considering that she had never lived with a boyfriend before.

"There's only one way to know that." She pointed out.

"You are right. Hey do you want one more drink?" Martha asked trying to take this subject out of her mind and enjoy more of the night.

"Sure. Bring me a Pinacolada please."

With the new drinks in their hands, they talked about the recent news around the world, some stories when they were kids and played together after school and about their work.

Time came when they decided to go home. It was getting late already and both friends were getting tired.

"I was thinking that perhaps we could make a picnic next saturday. Are you in?" Martha asked.

"You know I cannot refuse that. I love picnics. Should I bring a football? We could play in the park too." Melody replied as they left the bar.

"That is a brilliant idea, Mel. Do you want me to take you home?"

"No need. Thanks. See you on saturday."

They said goodbye to each other and Mel headed in the direction of her house.

She was walking slowly, thinking about the idea of Martha and Andrew living together. She was happy for them.

Melody was so deep in thought, that she didn't notice the man following her closely.

When she was passing a dark alley, he grabbed her by the waist with one hand and the other went to her mouth preventing her from screaming. She tried desperately to get out of his hold but he was too strong for her little frame.

He pulled her deep into the darkness, making her nerves spike and her breathing to increase.

Airio was at his house after a night of collecting souls. He was tired. Too many people had die tonight.

Suddenly, he felt strange as if he was anxious for no reason. He wasn't use to the feeling so he sat for some seconds thinking what could be the reason for that.

His thoughts went to Mel and he knew, in that moment, that something was wrong with her.

He ran outside and materialized in the place he knew she was. It was dark but he could see his friend there waiting.

"What are you doing here?" Zarak asked surprised to see Airio standing beside him.

He didn't answer his friend. He looked around and his eyes focused on the scene taking place in the street.

Melody was against the wall and some man was pressing his body to her making her heart race in her chest. He was touching her with his filthy hands. Daring to go to places that were sacred.

He felt his temper rise and without thinking he materialized behind the brute and grabbed him by his shoulder pulling him out of her.

She is mine!!!

He didn't know how it happen, but one moment the man was breathing and the other he was laying quietly on the ground, his breathing ceasing completely.

He looked around.
First he saw Zarak's face. His friend was in shock with what he had done. His eyes mirroring his feelings.
Then he saw the soul appeared, lifting from the man now dead.

Then, his eyes lay on Melody's face. Her eyes were replete with fear, horror, surprise and relieve. He saw her take a step in the direction of the man to see how was the guy and who was him.

The monster that a few moments ago wanted to rape her, was dead. The realization sank in her and she grabbed her phone to call emergency. She tried to make CPR to the body.

How could she try to save the man that was about to ruin her life?

The ambulance arrived ten minutes later. The paramedics took her and the man inside and went to the hospital.
In the dark alley stood Airio, Zarak and the soul. All three invisible to the human eyes.

They traveled to their world together in silence.

Airio was desperately trying to control his impulse to kick the guy that had instigate fear on his most precious human.

How could he? He touched her without her consent. Even if the man had her consent, Airio would probably kill the bastard for he was touching someone that was his to touch.

After arriving at Avaron, Zarak, who had been silent for the whole trip, finally spoke.
"Go home. I will put the soul in his new home. When I finish, I will go to your place. We need to talk."

Airio turned his back to his friend knowing that it would be a long night for both of them.
