Melody was still dreaming when the black dog climbed into her bed and started licking her face.

She felt confuse for some moments and then recognition hit her.

"Oscar stop!! Get off the bed!!" She said. The black ball of fur was determined to get her up, so he pressed his wet snout into her face again. Seeing that she was struggling to return to sleep, Oscar started barking.

With a sight of frustration, Mel pushed the blankets aside and went to her bathroom. Oscar tried to follow her but she closed the door before he could enter the little space.

After taking a shower, she got dress up and went to the kitchen to give Oscar some food. Apparently he had other ideas and started barking near the front door.

"So you want to go outside hum?" She looked around the room to see if the dog had done some private business on her floor. It seemed cleaned and she smiled to herself.

"At least you are well educate mister. Good boy!!" The dog barked again waving his black tail happily.

They went for a walk in the small park behind her house. It was just 10am but the park was already full of people. It was sunday and that could explain why there was so much people there enjoining what could be the beginning of a warm day. She saw a couple with two kids playing football and an old couple sitting in one of the benches.

Oscar was busy sniffing the ground but hadn't done his business yet. Of course he had pee over almost every tree of the park but she knew he would do more.

Melody grew impatient. She had the bag ready to collect his smelly present but the stubborn dog refused to make it.

"Oh come on... Make it already..." Oscar just looked at her like she was crazy.

Yeah buddy... I think I am... First I started talking with invisible beings and now with you... Maybe by Christmas I can talk to Santa too...

Oscar finally decided for a perfect place after rounding it for several moments.

"Now the worst part... This is part of the reason why I don't want a dog..." She mumble while she picked that from the ground and threw it away in the nearest trash.

She returned home and went to study a bit. The finals were near and she had to assure she would have good grades so she could find job after.

While she was in the middle of one of the theories of Immanuel Kant, Oscar started to bark frantically, shattering her concentration. Her feet lead her to where the noise was, the kitchen. Immediately she felt the invisible presence. She then noticed Oscar. He was standing in a corner facing the fridge. The fur on it's back was rise and the teeth were showing.

She looked again at the fridge and saw nothing but something inside her told her the presence was there.

"You can feel it too?" She whispered stepping closer to the fridge. Instinct made her lift her hand. She wanted to know if she could feel something to confirm her theories.

Before she could reach the spot where Airio was standing, Oscar moved to be in front of her. Was he protecting her?

She couldn't lose her time thinking about that. She tried to calm Oscar with words and just like it started, it disappeared. Oscar quieted down and went to lay on it's pillow.

Airio was relieved the animal had made a move. He couldn't risk her touching him and die. He had managed to open the portal and escape but he knew he had lucky.
He hadn't expected to have the beast at her house but he was happy that the dog could protect her. At least she was safe.
How could the animal know where he was? How long till the dog was taken from her home so he could continue his role as guardian?
