TW// slight angst//shame at being a bad parent, [also shouting and swearing (but that's just from Tommy lmaooo)]

Third Person POV: No one in particular

"Yo-gi! Mi-sh'll! Sh'oud!" Michael squealed, tearing his hands excitedly from his parents as he rushed through the shallow snow to embrace his three best friends. Jumping around as they clung together created one conjoined mass of giggles. Not surprising to anyone, Shroud hugged from the outside, allowing all four of his 'arms' to wrap around the others. (don't worry I can count lol, the other four are his legs, that's all)

"H- Hi guys!" Ranboo waved, him and Tubbo taking longer as they elected to walk - unlike their energetic son - to meet the rest of the 'adults'. Tommy, Fundy, and Puffy returned the friendly greeting, each beckoning the late-comers over to join them at the frosty picnic table where they sat under a few snow-covered trees.

The kids rushed off around the open space to play tag.

"'Bout time you both showed your ugly faces," Tommy scoffed impishly, fluffing up his blond mop of hair.

Puffy knocked into his shoulder, making him fake cry. "Play nice," she laughed from beside him, failing to remain stern around the boy.

"Oi! F*ck off," the young Brit scoffed defensively. "I am 'playing nice,' Captain Puffy. These two know, yeah?"

Ranboo and Tubbo sucked air between their teeth, while they grimaced playfully. "Gee, dunno, Toms..." Tubbo spoke slowly, as if hurt. "Kinda feel done-bad with you bullying us like that... Me and Boo should probably go..."

Tommy jumped to his feet and slammed one hand flat against the top of the cold table, using the other one to point at them. "Shut up! Not cool! You're not going anywhere! Take it back!"

"Nah-ah," Tubbo poked his tongue out. "You started it!"

"Your face started it!"

"Well- Well your face started it!"

Puffy, Fundy and Ranboo laughed at their childish antics.

"Boys, boys; now, now," the sheep-hybrid tutted. "Who are the children here? You both or your sons...?"

"Fine...!" The two whined. "Sorry, Puffy..." they mumbled begrudgingly - hanging their heads a little in shame, before lifting them to make mischievous eye contact and sending each other into another round of laughter.

Fundy groaned dramatically, rubbing his forehead. "This is why I shouldn't have even bothered coming," he sighed at Ranboo, who shrugged with a sly smile. Even though he meant well, Fundy struggled to return it.

"I don't know what else- Dunno what else you expected, to be fair, Fundy."

The four boys were disrupted by Puffy clapping her hands like a teacher. "Alright, fella's, I don't know about you all, but I was rushing so much this morning that while I may have fed my daughter, I still haven't eaten anything myself." She brushed back a thick swirl of her sheep-hair back into place, after a sudden gust of wind rolled through their picnic spot. "So, would you all mind if we dug into the food...?" Puffy huffed tiredly as she took in their blank stares. "Please tell me I wasn't the only one who packed something...?"

"O-Oh!" Ranboo spoke up guilty. "N-Not at all! We have fr- We brought some fruit salad, Puffy. Me and Tubbo were also busy, but while Tubbo got Michael ready, I quickly put this together. Might still have skin on some- on some of the pieces. Woops. But, yeah: fruit salad! What- What about everyone else?" He brought the container out of their bag and placed it gently on the wooden table-top.

As Puffy smiled gratefully, she took out a wrapped plate of double choc-chip brownies she said Michelle and her had baked just the day before, getting flour everywhere. "She was so happy with these. Every weekend we have 'bake sessions' together, but since we missed last week to spend time with Foolish instead, we made a double batch this time -"

"Cool, don't care," the blond boy butted in. "Now look at what me and Shroud made with Phil!" Tommy slammed a container down and hurriedly threw off the plastic lid. "Ta-da! It's us!" He beamed, showing off multiple cut-out biscuits of himself wearing his white-and-red attire, green scarf, and yellow blob of hair. The other two variants were of Shroud in black-and-red, with his multiple limbs and eyes, and finally, a few of Phil with wings and his green-black-and-white robe. They were very messily iced, but it resembled them enough not to be a complete disaster. Everyone there praised Tommy, not about to tell him they weren't the best looking. But maybe they tasted good...?

"F'ndy!" The blond boy shouted suddenly, getting the male's attention - not caring his mouth was a little too full from taking a huge bite out of his cookie. A few crumbs appeared. "Wha' y'u m'ke? Sh'w us, n'w! C'me on!"

"Uh..." Fundy rubbed the back of his fluffy, white and orange neck shamefully. "I-"

"You lettin' us down, fur-boy?" Tommy taunted, having swallowed his piece.

Fundy shuffled around in his cold seat, trying to avoid the boy's gaze. "N-No-! I just-" He sighed, rubbing his neck once more. "Um... Look, it's been difficult with Yogurt lately...ok? And...other things. I haven't had a moment to be a 'good' parent and actually make anything, like you guys." He absentmindedly swirled a puddle of melted ice with one of his claws.

Without the fox-hybrid noticing, Puffy held a secretive hand up in case any of the others interrupted, her eyes throwing premature daggers.

Fundy slowly continued talking, keeping his eyes fixed on the water. "I can't even rem- remember the last time we did anything like...bake, or whatever, together. Or played. O-Or-" Fundy's voice cracked. He growled a little, trying to fight off his tears. "I, um... This was like my one calm day today. I haven't been sleeping well at all. I was happy to have this time to spend with my kid, you know, and it made it even better getting the invite to come hang out. I- I needed this. And so did Yogurt." He sniffled, a little startled at the way two tears ran down his furry face - quickly wiped away. "A-Anyway, I'm ruining your day. I brought some...Dorito's, so..."

At that, Fundy lifted the red bag up, left it on the table, and walked off to the bathrooms.

A layer of silence blanketed the others left behind.

"W-Well, aha, that was...odd, right guys?" Tommy tried letting out a dry chuckle, but it fell flat rather quickly as he took in everyone's solemn faces. "Geez, sorry. Tough crowd..."

"Tommy."

"Right, yeah, yeah, Puffy, 'gotta take care of fur-boy,' and shit."

Puffy gave the boy a tough stare, not breaking it to laugh like at the start of the meet-up. It made Tommy squirm. "Be. Respectful. Now is far from the time for jokes."

Tommy feigned a gutted gasp. "But I was just-!"

"Tommy!" Ranboo yelled, rubbing his fist which he had just slammed onto the table. "Ow..."

Silently, Tubbo glared at his friend while he took Ranboo's injured hands and rubbed it soothingly.

Tommy huffed, folding his arms tight across his chest. "Ok. Fine. Fine!" He threw his hands up. "I'm sorry. I wanted to lighten the mood. I hate it when everything gets serious. Scares me, or some shit. Just...  Ok, what do you want to do about fur- about Fundy? Talk about feelings, or whatever...?"

Puffy smiled a little to herself at Tommy's change in attitude - whether reluctant, or not. "Well, we do need to talk to him, yes, but only once he comes back. So for now we will eat, watch the kids play, and make sure they don't get hurt, or anything, then...  Well, then, Tommy, we will need to have a chat with Fundy about his feelings, and let him know we're here for him, ok?"
