Chapter One - A&C

Ace and Cro have finally crossed paths in Dice of all places. Both of them had horrific childhoods but spent it with people who made it bearable. She was as intrigued by him as he is about her. Continuing from the last chapter of book 1 and 2, we are at Dice where Ace and Cro are meeting for the first time. Ace is wearing a black dress with knee high boots whilst Cro is wearing a white shirt, leather jacket and black jeans. They love the colour black and have experience with abandonment which makes them stubborn and cautious. Ace has curly blonde hair with brown-green eyes. Cro has straight black hair sleeked back with brown eyes. They both have light skin but only Cro has tattoos. He took his mother and fathers initials across his heart and a sleeve tattoo on his left arm until his wrist. They are about crows and skulls to represent the fight between life and death he experienced after watching his parents die in front of him. Ace is still accepting the fact that her parents know that she is alive and Cro refuses to believe that his revenge should suddenly end. These two come from powerful parents and have grown in different ways. Lets continue their story using their real names Lucy and James. (Ace): So tell me, James Did you grow up in Gotham? (Cro): Spent my entire life here. Did you? (Ace): I did but I would one day consider seeing the world (Cro): Because there is more to life than Gotham City? (Ace): Exactly what I was thinking They smile at one another as they realise that they both share the love for travelling the world one day. (Cro): You said that your name is Lucy Quinzel. Is that Quinzel as in- (Ace): Harley Quinzel? Also known as Harley Quinn. Yeah. Took me a long-ass time to accept that she is my mother (Cro): Wait. So, Joker is your- (Ace): Father? Un-fucking-fortunately James laughs and smiles at her. He sees that Lucy is embarrassed and ashamed to say that he is her father and wants to make her smile. (Cro): Dont worry Do you see me running away? (Ace): No I dont, and I am happy that you arent. But anyway, they have been quite the absentee parents. Tell me about yours James looks down at the ground and takes a deep breath. He thinks to himself that maybe the alcohol is making him a bit too sentimental. (Cro): My parents were murdered in front of me when I was a little boy. I never had enough time to get to know if they sucked or not A tear runs down his cheek and Lucy wipes it away, staring into his eyes. (Ace): I am so sorry. I feel like I was being insensitive earlier (Cro): No its okay. You had no idea. It still messes with me I guess Lucy cant take her eyes off of him and kisses James. He is surprised but returns the kiss. They smile at each other as if they were kids that expressed their crushes for the first time. (Ace): It takes a lot of strength to keep going after that kind of loss. I am in awe of you (Cro): In awe? That is not necessary. You are still going even though you are the daughter of Harley Quinn and the Joker. That is even more than amazing They burst out of laughter and order more drinks. They talk for hours about their lives and being villains. (Ace): You live in a mansion? You have really lived in mansions your entire life? (Cro): Yeah it is not as fancy once you have spent a lot of time there. You mentioned that you stay in your own mansion estate now as well? That is fucking cool (Ace): I just moved in, and it is not that bad. I bought one for Selina as well. You know her? Cat woman? She is like a mother to me (Cro): I have not met her yet. She raised you? (Ace): Yes she did. It is a bit complicated. She and Poison Ivy were asked by my mother to take care of me after my aunt who was my guardian at the time was killed at her house (Cro): Oh shit! I am so sorry to hear that. Ivy? Now that I am thinking about it the first time I hung out with my friends here at Dice, she mentioned you (Ace): FuckWhat did Pam say about me? (Cro): That you are the owner of this great place and that we should be set up on a blind date (Ace): Well maybe she was onto something. We ended up here together anyway, right? (Cro): Consider it a date They clink their glasses and drink champagne. This night felt like it was the perfect night to run into one another. You could even say that the meeting was destiny and meant to be. If you believe in that sort of thing. (Ace): Do you have anyone who could resemble a parental figure in your life? (Cro): I have my butler, Rick who basically raised me. But I had another guy who was like a father to me, but he recently left (Ace): Who is this coward? (Cro): Two-Face Harvey is not exactly a coward for leaving but he had his reasons (Ace): I have not met him yet. People that leave are no good in my opinion (Cro): I agree with you on that After a couple more shots, even more topics are being discussed by these two lovebirds. (Cro): I bet that you have a crazy first boyfriend story that you will never forget (Ace): Doesnt everyone? Picture a guy that works for someone powerful and he ends up wanting you dead then nearly succeeds at trying to kill you (Cro): Fucking hell that is completely shitty. What is his name so I can rip his throat out (Ace): You dont need to worry about that It is already taken care of (Cro): Damn girl I really like you (Ace): I think I like you too Wait. Do you also have a crazy ex story? (Cro): Picture your college sweetheart, screwing one of your friends on a kitchen counter of all places whilst you walk in on it with an engagement ring in your hand (Ace): Oh my absolute shit! Who was she cheating with? You mentioned that it was one of your friends (Cro): Nobody that is really worth mentioning. I doubt you even know the bastard They keep talking about their lives until the sun rises in the morning. It is as if time just flies when they are with each other. However, it is time for them to go home and get some rest. They will never forget this night because it was the best night of their lives. Unfortunately, James had no idea that the man who his ex-girlfriend cheated on him with, known as Deadshot, was Lucys ex fling. Neither the fact that his ex-girlfriend Duela has become friends with her as well. But these are all things that we tend to learn about people the longer we get to know them.
