Chapter Twenty Four - A&C

Our dearest Lucy Maxwell has been pregnant for five months today. That is basically twenty weeks of adjusting to the new experiences as week. She has been sitting at home all the time to protect herself and the baby. Gotham City has too many unexpected things in the streets and the last thing they would want is for Joker or anyone else to have unannounced visits. They could put Ace and her unborn baby in a lot of unnecessary danger. Although, Cro would never allow that to happen. He would protect them with his life if it came to that. She has been having the strangest cravings so she spent a lot of time downstairs in the tv room. Laying on the couch with the fireplace going and trying all kinds of combinations that she would ask the staff to prepare. (Ace): Are you on your way home yet? Cro has been catching up with work and has not heard from Two-Face for almost a year now. He did not expect to hear from him anyway. Ace had become more emotional and attached during her pregnancy. Cro had arranged for Catwoman to stop by and spend a few days with Ace. Then they could catch up and talk about the pregnancy. Ace was currently one the phone with Cro and was wondering when he was coming home because she was missing him a lot. It was not a normal feeling for her but her hormones made her a Whoopi cushion of emotions. (Cro): I am five minutes away, baby. I have a surprise too (Ace): Just get home soon. I already miss you and it is pissing me off Cro gets home and greets Ace. They snuggle up at the fireplace and watch some movies on the television. Ace has been watching whatever genre she was in the mood for. Sometimes she would watch half of a movie and change it because her mood changed. *KNOCK KNOCK* (Ace): So what is the surprise that you have for me? (Cro): Go open the door and find out Ace walks to the door and sees that it is Catwoman. She screams and hugs her. But Selina is shocked when she sees Lucys stomach. (Catwoman): Wait a second, Kitty. Is that a baby bump? Are you? (Ace): Yes! I am having a baby (Catwoman): Oh my absolute shit! That is amazing! Congratulations! How far along are you? (Ace): I am five months in already. James surprised me with your visit but I am so happy that you are here with us! (Catwoman): I am not visiting Kitty, I am actually staying over with you guys for a few days (Ace): Oh yes! Wait. Come on in! It is so cold outside! Bring your bags too! We have a guest room on the second floor that is right across from the master suite so you wont be too far away! (Cro): I am so happy to see you this excited but this was only half of the surprise (Ace): What do you mean? (Cro): I had a sauna and spa room built for you on the third floor. Remember when you told me that you wanted one? (Ace): That is so sweet of you! I dont even remember that! Thank you, baby (Catwoman): How did you not realise? Didnt you see people going in to build or hear the construction? (Ace): I have been chilling in this room for the longest time during the day until James gets home. So I never noticed anything. Plus that is the top floor so I havent had the energy to go all the way up there, lately That is true. Her belly started growing immensely around the time she reached four months. It was her biggest fear that she could possibly be carrying twins. She tried to imagine what it would be like to have a boy or a girl. However, she never stopped to think about what having two at a time would be like. Frankly, neither did James for a second. Having one child was more than enough to start with. To learn the ropes, get the hang of it and decide from there if they would dare to have another one. Selina gets herself unpacked ain the guest room while Ace relaxes in the tv room. (Ace): Baby, my feet are getting so cold. These slippers are too open. Could you- (Cro): Bring you a comfortable and warm pair of thick socks? (Ace): I love you so fucking much. Thank you He brings Lucy the socks and puts them on for her. The cuddle on the couch and have a couple of blankets over them. Selina sits on the opposite couch with a couple blankets as well. (Catwoman): So, kitty tell me. How did you find out that you were pregnant? You never mentioned it to me that you guys were trying to have a baby (Ace): That is because we were not actually trying to have a baby, Sel. It kind of just happened to us without knowing. I was still getting my periods so we assumed that I was not (Cro): So she got sick and we could not think straight until we knew that she was doing alright. It was so fucking scary (Ace): Then we heard the news from the doctor that I was actually expecting and the rest is history (Cro): Turns out she was having morning sickness the entire time and we had absolutely no idea (Ace): I didnt want to tell anyone until we knew that it would be a safe idea to start telling people. In case the crazy clan thought that they could pop by and pop me open (Catwoman): You really dont have to explain yourself to me. Being able to know that you are safe and healthy is more important than anything. Have you heard from the circus freaks since the engagement dinner?" (Ace): We have not heard from several people since that dinner. Not that any of them are horribly missed (Cro): That is true. They have been silent and we have been enjoying the freedom from any drama that we dont need in our lives (Ace): But we have spoken to Joker and Harley during our honeymoon (Catwoman): Joker AND Harley? Are they back together again? (Ace): I have no idea to be honest with you, Sel. But they are not too glad that we chose to elope and have a small wedding for ourselves. They seemed to have thought that we would invite them for some reason (Catwoman): A lot of us shared the feeling of surprise to hear that you suddenly got married but we are all excited for this new chapter in your lives, kitty (Ace): Thank you so much, Sel. It has been a fucking interesting journey. We are still learning so much about one another. It is exciting Ace can feel that her back is hurting but James offered to give her a back massage. Boy, what I would do for a back massage right now. Ace eats some popcorn with chocolate pudding. She tends to think salty and sweet works well together. That just sounds disgusting. If you are trying to picture it. There is popcorn being dipped into chocolate pudding If that sounds exciting then I have no idea what to say. James tries it and almost falls over because he does not like it. Neither does Selina. They both agree that they should eat it separately.
