Chapter Fourteen - C

Its been so many fucking hours and the doctor has not said ANYTHING! They wouldnt let me in because I am not family and they wouldnt let Joker in because well, do I really have to explain? I have no idea what he is even still doing here. Stinking up the fucking hospital. We have been here and nothing has been going on at all. I hear someone walking by but it is not the doctor. Joker walks up to me. He doesnt know that I am Lucys fiancé but he doesnt have to know. (Joker): Could you be any more useless? Where is she? He is the last fucking person to yell at me right now. I will rip his throat out. (Cro): I am the one who brought here in the first place. As far as Im concerned, you are the useless one in this room We pace up and down for the next couple of hours. FINALLY! The doctor walks in and we jump up from our seats. Joker runs to her and holds her up against the wall by her neck. (Joker): If she is not being taken care of due to any lack of service on your part, you can get ready to taste gravel, miss (Cro): Put her down, Joker. She cant talk with your hand wrapped around her neck! He lets her down and she catches her breath before saying anything. He needs to chill the fuck out! We are both frustrated but I dont know why he is still here. He wanted to kill her so many times and now he decides to play the father figure role? He seriously pisses me off. (Dr Castle): Well, Miss Quinzel is in good care and great condition. The bullet went out clean so there were no complications. There are no infections or any bullet fragments to be removed. There was not too much blood loss but we treated her with a blood transfusion. We also gave her certain medications to help with the pain. She is currently conscious as the pain medication had her out of consciousness for a few hours. However, she is doing well and needs to be in recovery for at least two to three weeks. The bullet wound needs time to fully heal (Joker): So what youre saying is that she needs to stay in this shit hole for three fucking weeks? (Cro): She can see us now, though? I can go see her? (Dr Castle): Follow me. I will take you to her room This doctor deserves a pay raise for dealing with Joker and his bullshit. Such a damn demented clown. She takes us to the room that she is staying in and she looks so weak. It hurts to see her like this but she will need her rest for two to three weeks as the doctor said. But I dont like the idea that she has to stay here in the hospital on her own. She sees Joker and her face gets serious but she smiles and relaxes when she sees me there too. (Ace): Hey. I shot myself in the arm I sit beside her bed and hold her hand in my hands. (Cro): Yes you did. Luckily it wasnt your head or you would not be here right now (Ace): Speaking of not being here, what is this moron doing here? (Joker): Surprises me just as much as it surprises you (Ace): Do I have to stay here? I want to go home. Away from this freak (Cro): You need rest for two to three weeks for the wound to heal The doctor comes back. She brings Lucy some water and other small things to eat in case she is feeling hungry. (Dr Castle): Okay. So, visiting hours are- (Cro): No. Visiting hours wont be necessary. She can come home with me (Joker): You look very familiar but why would she be going home with you? (Dr Castle): Would she have any nurses or someone to check on her and her wound in the next two to three weeks? (Joker): Why the HELL would she go home with you? (Ace): He is my boyfriend! Not that it is any of your business anyway (Cro): We have medical staff that can check on her. I will also be there to make sure that she is alright and looked after Joker has been making strange faces since the mention that I am dating Lucy. What is going on in that green head of his? (Joker): Your boyfriend? She gives me a worried look. I know that it is too soon for him to know that I am her boyfriend or even the fact that we are engaged. So I play along. (Cro): Yes. I am her boyfriend (Dr Castle): I have some things for you to sign and then we can safely discharge her into your care Joker storms out to wherever and he does not come back. Unpredictable and really off his marbles, that one. It is not just advertised on Gothams news channels. I finished signing all of the forms and paperwork before leaving with Lucy. At least she is feeling a lot better than she was earlier. She was so pale. At least she is not dead. She was really going to kill herself. She never told me that part of the plan. She was seriously going to take her life right in front of me. It is fucking with my mind since we got to the hospital and still going on as we are being driven home. We arrive safely at home, and I take her to the master suite to relax. The medical staff prepared everything on our drive home. She is hooked up to keep everything stable. Hours have gone by, and we are sitting together in bed. Just knowing that she is safe gives me a lot of peace. (Cro): Why didnt you tell me about the hidden part of the entire plan when we were going to the warehouse? It was some sort of last-minute thing that was never run by me (Ace): Listen, either Joker has to die, or I do. Otherwise, everything will only get messier and messier. You dont deserve to be dragged into all of that (Cro): Lucy that is not up to you to decide alone. We are facing everything together, remember? As scary as that sounds for both of us because we grew up having to depend on ourselves. We need to protect each other. We are not taking our own lives just for the chaos to stop. This is not Romeo and Juliet. You are not doing that (Ace): I understand. It was wrong of me to be that impulsive without taking things into full consideration AS she agrees with me, I can see that she is falling asleep because her eyes are slowly closing and her body is relaxing itself to lay down without her realising. I fucking love this woman. She can be crazy and impulsive like her parents. That is for certain. Somehow I still love her regardless of how fucked up they are and how fucked up they have been treating her all her life. Even when they were not around her, they affected her without trying much. Well, they have another thing coming if they think that they are going to hurt her again. They will see exactly what I think of them.
