Chapter Twenty One - A&C

Ace and Cro have been feeling so much love in the air since their honeymoon and coming back. After all of the drama that was going on before that, they deserved to elope with peace of mind and having that moment be intimate for each other. They are officially Mr and Mrs Maxwell. Ace wanted to surprise her parents with that fact. They would most likely lose their shit but she was eager to witness that. She never truly felt like a Fleck or a Quinzel. Cro was surprised that he got to wake up next to his wife that loves him. People had always told him that nobody would love him enough to marry him. Somehow they both got lucky enough to find and love another the way they do. Not that the relationship has been easy for either of them. Ace received a call from Batman and told Cro that she was going to check on what he wanted to tell her. (Ace): Morning Bruce. What is going on? (Batman): Morning Lucy. Could you and your fiancé meet me at my place in an hour? I have something I need to discuss with the both of you (Ace): We actually got married a little over a month ago (Batman): Fantastic! Congratulations Lucy. That is great news. Would you and your husband be able to make it? (Ace): We will do our best. See you soon, Bruce Cro will not be excited to hear that they have to go to Bruces house. Ace does not exactly know the full story that it was Batman who murdered Cros parents in front of him. He never felt like there was a right time to tell her the full details. He is going to lose his mind when she tells him the news. She walks up to him and he already has a worried look on his face. (Cro): What is it, baby? She takes a deep breath and walks towards him. Ace knows that this is not going to be easy and he might be completely against going anywhere near his home. She knows that he hates Batman but she does not exactly understand why yet. If only Cro would tell her the full truth because she was tired of wondering aimlessly and having to let her imagination do the work for her. So she knew she had to talk otherwise he was going to freak out that she took a quick pause. (Ace): Batman wants to discuss some things with us at his manor and he invited us both to go there for the information Cro closes his eyes and takes a deep breathe. It is as if he swallowed liquid lava and his insides were liquifying. A second goes by followed by another and another. Ace tries to keep herself calm but he has not said a word for what feels like hours within fleeting seconds. She holds him and puts her head against his to keep each other calm. It helps. (Ace): I know that you have a vendetta against him but he asked for the both of us. It is most likely about our future home that they are busy building for us. You know just as I do, how important that is to the both of us. Do this for me, please? You wont have to speak at all. I will do all of the talking. I dont exactly like talking to him either but this is something that we have to do. If it is not at his manor then it will be somewhere else with him Cro looks up at her and it looks like he is in pain. His eyes are red and his jaw is clenching. He still does not want to tell Ace about the truth. (Cro): Promise me that you will stay close to me at all times (Ace): I will be by your side the entire time. No surprises and no crazy unexpected danger. We will be safe She managed to convince him to agree and it shocked her that he was on board with what she had said to him. He wants to keep her safe by his side because even if Batman is the superhero that everybody knows, he did not trust him and would not leave her alone with him for a second. Rick said that he will have everything in control for whenever they return. They are not exactly sure how long they are going to be there but Ace was hoping that it would be extremely short so she could bring Cro home as quickly as possible. Steven brings the car around and they get inside. Ace and Cro holds hands to keep a peace of mind as they are on the way to the Wayne Manor. They walk inside and the place is fucking huge. Why does the place you live in have to be this large? I would not want to be the maid or millions of maids needed to clean all of it. Bruce walks out of one of the rooms and greets them before asking them to follow him to one of the meeting rooms. As they are walking, Robin walks into them and everyone stops. (Batman): Damian, where are your manners? This is Lucy. Have you met before? (Ace): Not that I recall (Robin): Nice to meet you, Lucy (Ace): Please call me, Ace. This is my husband, Cro (Batman): You and Lucy are cousins (Robin): Oh thats cool. So she is your niece (Ace): He is your son? (Batman): Long story. Now that you are acquainted this way They walk into a meeting room that looks like a formal corporate boardroom. The fact that this is one of the meeting rooms in the manor is really crazy. (Batman): I called you both here to tell you that the home we are building for you is one percent away from being completed (Ace): That is wonderful news! But why wouldnt you just tell me that over the phone? (Batman): Because we just have a few final documents for you both to sign. Then the plans go from ninety-nine percent to one hundred. Then the place is fully built and all yours. You can pack whatever you would like to move to the mansion as soon as you are ready (Ace): Then lets get to it. No time to waste They sign all of what needs to be and they leave as soon as possible. Once they arrive at home, Ace tells Rick about the plans to move. He says that everything can be packed up and moved by later that evening. She walks upstairs and Cro is losing it. He is throwing knives at the wall and screaming with tears in his eyes. He is having a full-on mental breakdown and Ace does not understand what is exactly going on. He is smashing glasses into the fireplace and he is red in the face. She gets him to sit down with her on the floor. (Ace): James? (Cro): The son of a bitch! That perfect little son of a bitch! (Ace): James! Look at me (Cro): That little- (Ace): Look at me! He turns to look at Ace and is panting heavily. He is trying to catch his breath and does not want to say anything. (Ace): Tell me now. Once and for all. No more sugar-coating the truth. What has Bruce done for you to hate him so much? (Cro): He shot my mom and dad. He shot them. He killed them right in front of me (Ace): Murder? Batman does not murder people (Cro): For the Court Of Owls? They murdered his parents. You really think he held back even though my parents had nothing to do with it? He tells Ace everything and it feels like her brain was cracked open.
