Chapter Twenty Six - A

I havent heard from Selina in four months since she stayed over and it has been driving me mad. Her phone has been off and I couldnt reach her at all. Wherever she is, I hope she is alright but it is making me worry so much. James has been the absolute best during this pregnancy and he has been with me for every check-up, every ultrasound, every appointment, and anything else we needed to do. It means the fucking world to me that he has been so supportive and helpful. (Cro): Hey. How are you feeling today? I had been having contractions during the past few weeks but they said that it was not labour. How the fuck does that work? Some sort of Braxton-Hicks thing. It would happen at least once a week and it felt like my entire uterus was being torn apart over and over. (Ace): I am feeling okay. I called Pam and she said that she was going to come over (Cro): Okay. Still no word from Selina? (Ace): None and I was not able to find out whether Pam had heard from her or not because when she heard that I am pregnant, she immediately hung up and was on her way (Cro): Wow, my love. That is hilarious (Ace): But I think that Rachel was there too (Cro): Rachel? (Ace): Rachel Roth? She is known as Raven (Cro): I have never heard of her (Ace): Oh okay. She was a close childhood friend. We just had a falling out when she joined the Teen Titans (Cro): The group that Robin, your cousin is the leader of right? Oh yeah. He is my cousin. I really do think that we have met before but it is probably a repressed memory. But it gets away from me at the moment. (Ace): He is the leader, yes. They are a group of heroes and we are not exactly hero type of people here (Cro): I havent killed anyone since you got pregnant though. You had to give up alcohol for nine months so I gave up killing criminals and serial assholes for nine months That is mind blowing for me. He has quite the temper with evil or cruel people. It is sweet that he put all of that on hold for me. (Ace): Aww. I appreciate the gesture, baby. I miss being able to go on heists and things like that. Hopefully after the baby comes, we can both go back to that (Cro): We just have to be more careful now. We have a baby to think of (Ace): I agree with you In case you were wondering, we didnt want to know the gender of the baby until they are born. We wanted it to be a surprise for us once the baby is here. So we are very excited. As I am drinking some hot chocolate, there is a knock at the door. That is most likely Panela because otherwise Steven them would have not allowed them past the gates. I check our cameras and it confirms exactly what I had said. (Ace): Hello to you both (Poison Ivy): Holy shit! You werent kidding. You really are about to pop any moment (Ace): Any moment now. Not that I am in a rush or anything (Raven): I heard the news as Ivy ran out of Dice. Congratulations Luce (Ace): Thank you, Rachel. Come inside. Wait a second. Have you met James before? James was standing at the archway watching us talk to make sure that there were no dangerous threats. Thanks to all of the shit that Joker has done, it has made us a little paranoid of any random shit. (Cro): Im Cro. You can call me James (Ace): My husband (Raven): You are married as well? (Poison Ivy): Okay. In all honesty... I kind of already knew that. Selina told me that not too long ago. But congratulations, sweetie! (Raven): Double congratulations, Luce! To the both of you (Poison Ivy): I love your gigantic house by the way. It looks- *SPLAT* (Ace): Oh fuck! (Cro): Did my water just break? (Ace): My water just broke Everyone starts panicking and running around to get towels. They are getting random things right now. It is just utter chaos. (Cro): We can get you in the car and to the hospital as soon as possible (Ace): No! (Cro): No? Baby, you are in labour. The baby is on the way. You need to get to a hospital right now No fucking way. Not after what happened the last time we were at the hospital. Joker will manoeuvre his way into the building and cause a scene. This baby deserves a better birth than that. I want to protect them no matter what. (Ace): No hospitals. Take me to the medic room. We can call the doctor. We can do that They take me down to the medic room and help me onto the bed after changing. James has been calling the doctor but nobody is helping him. (Ace): Where is she? I can feel this is happening very soon and she cant exactly delay it for a couple days (Cro): Her assistant is saying that she is very far out and her private jet can get her here in one hour (Ace): That is too long Suddenly Pamela checks me and starts running around the room looking for things. What is going on now? She changes her outfit and does something weird with gloves. (Poison Ivy): Get me a damn cloth and some warm water, James (Cro): Why should I do that? (Poison Ivy): That doctor is most likely going to get here after the baby is already out because that baby is on its way right fucking now. So I am going to deliver your wifes baby. I need you to grab me some cloths and warm water! (Raven): How can I help, Ivy? (Poison Ivy): Pass me things if I ask for them but play some soothing music. She is already nine centimetres dilated so believe me, she is going to fucking need something to keep her calm instead of the sounds of her body fighting her (Ace): Where is Selina? She cant miss this! I am getting up. She cant miss the birth Pam puts her hands on my shoulders to make me sit back down and lay. She clearly is too familiar with something like this. Did she help somebody give birth before because she knows what she is doing and it is creeping me out? (Poison Ivy): Sweetie, listen to me very carefully. You are in labour and are about nine and a half centimetres dilated. You are going to have to push and it is going to hurt like a motherfucker. We have no time to think about anything other than a healthy and safe delivery, okay? (Ace): Alright (Poison Ivy): Where are the cloths, James? (Cro): I am here! Everyone is busy doing something and I cant stop sweating. This is the worst pain that I have ever been through in my entire fucking life and I have been shot before! I have had multiple injuries and none of them can compare to this. Pam asks me to start pushing and it feels like I was wrong. THIS is the worst fucking pain that I have ever experienced. Time goes by and I am told to push constantly with each contraction that comes. It feels like my veins are going to implode and explode simultaneously. *CRYING* (Poison Ivy): You did amazingly, Lucy. She is healthy and so cute (Ace): She? Our baby is a girl! (Cro): She is so tiny (Raven): Do you have a name yet? (Ace): Rena? It means melody or a lot of joy (Cro): I love that. Welcome home, Rena Welcome little one. I immediately pass out.
