CW: a bit of blood
When Patton woke up the next day, he didn't expect to see a text message from Roman. It was small, saying he was needed in the office today to do some rescheduling. Mondays were somehow always the busiest.
He had completely forgotten about work over the weekend. Okay, not completely, his job isn't one that is easily forgettable. However he and Logan spent all day Saturday planning for the wedding. Finding decorations and even a nice park for their wedding.
They still have yet to come up with a date... Patton can't think of a time where he can take off of work, especially with all of these bounties on the twins. And Logan is hesitant to take off time too, but they'll need to eventually.
Patton looked over to Logan, who was still sleeping peacefully beside him. The nymph sighed and got out of bed, heading to his closet. He grabbed a nice blue turtleneck and black jeans, heading to the bathroom to change.
When he got out, Logan had woken up, but hasn't gotten out of bed yet. Patton went over and took his hands, kissing his temple.
"Good morning, sleepy head," he greeted.
Logan mumbled it back, too tired to say anything. He didn't look as exhausted as usual, but it was always like that at the beginning of the week. Right now, he just looked like he didn't want to get out of bed.
"How about I make breakfast, what would you like?"
"It's fine, Patton, I'll make something on my own."
Patton pouted and sat on the bed. "Nope, you just woke up, let me help out, 'kay?"
Logan leaned his head against Patton's shoulder. "Okay dear, then I'd like some toast and crofters?"
"Coming right up! You just get dressed, and it'll be on the table when you come downstairs." He stood up and pulled Logan up with him. He quickly stood on his toes and gave Logan a quick kiss on the cheek before turning to leave the room.
Logan smiled as he watched his fiance leave. He really didn't want to leave for work today and deal with all the other police at the station, but he was doing it to make the city safe. To make their home safe. As long as he focuses on Patton, he'll be able to find the strength to continue his job.
When Logan came downstairs, Patton was finishing up their breakfast. He seemed to have gotten himself eggos waffles and was drowning them in syrup. Logan's crofter's toast was already on their plate, two empty cups next to them.
The half elf opened the fridge and pulled out orange juice and milk, pouring a glass of both with the cups Patton had gotten out.
"Thank you dear," Patton said.
"Of course. Will you be heading into work this morning?" Logan asked.
"Oh yeah, Mondays are the busiest. I have to do a lot of scheduling for the week, and rescheduling for things that were already planned by are no longer do-able at that time. I swear, my boss drives me insane sometimes."
"He seems to act like a child from what you've told me."
Patton laughed, thinking about both of the twins. "You have no idea." As far as Logan knows, Roman is his only boss, and it seems to be like that most of the time. However, Remus is still technically his boss. "But he's really nice, even if he pretends he's not. I seem to attract men that act cold but aren't."
"I feel like you're implying I am like that."
"Oh never! You're mister 'emotions don't sway me' all the way!"
Logan rolled his eyes with a smile, taking his plate and the cup of orange juice to the table. "That was before I met you."
"You were so much like your father." Patton set the syrup bottle down and followed him.
