Honestly Remus was tired of the back and forth with Roman about who he was dating, so the fight in the lab was a nice break. The whole time they were there, Roman didn't bring Wolfsbane up, which was a huge relief. Instead they were just focused on calming the fight, and of course the repercussions of it.

Just as Roman was wrapping everything up, 'cause of course Roman was in charge of dealing with it, Remus got a text message from Cecil. He didn't often get messages from him, so it was strange that he was receiving one right now.

He unlocked his phone and read the message, his blood growing cold. Then he boiled with anger.

All he had to say to Roman was the kids were in danger and the two of them were flying back home. They have never gotten home faster, and probably never will.

They saw a bright light shining from outside and Remus instantly recognized it as Sidney's holy fire. However before he dived down, bullets sprayed from the windows towards her.

Roman seemed to have teleported since he got there before Remus could. Sidney was pulled away in a blur, but Remus still heard her shout in pain. His brother pulled her to the side of the house, away from the bullets.

"Sidney!" Remus called as he landed beside them.

The angel was biting into her hand, tears pouring from her eyes. She slowly relaxed her jaw and let go with a sob.

"Where are you hurt?" Roman asked. "Where did you get hit?"

"K-Kayden an-and-" the angel tried to say before groaning in pain, leaning against the wall and Roman to stay upright.

"They're still inside," Roman realized. "Remus I'll take care of her, go-"

Remus didn't stay a moment longer. All he heard was 'I'll take care of her,' and it was all he needed to hear before taking off.

He went to the back door, pulling out his mace from his bag. He swung it up before crashing it against the door handle, kicking it open. Instantly he could see three strangers standing in his living room.

He must have surprised them since they were all frozen for a moment. Then Remus lifted his morning star and shouted as he ran in, rushing towards the nearest person who screamed. They tried to raise their gun, but Remus hit their arms, creating deep gashes, before swinging his morning star again and knocking them to the ground.

The other two raised their guns and started shooting again, but they were really bad at aiming, or were just terrified, since the closest bullet only grazed Remus's ear.

He threw skullsies at one, distracting the other long enough for Remus to jump on them, making them shout in fear.

"Stay the fuck away from my kids!" he shouted, raising a fist before punching the person under him in the jaw. There was a loud crack, and the person seemed to have been knocked out.

Remus stood up and looked around the room, first for any more threats, then for any sign of the kids. His heart was beating fast, anger starting to melt away and fear taking over. "Kids!" he shouted, taking a step forward. "Kay! Ce- Anemone!"

He heard a sob and turned to the couch, seeing Kayden standing up. Oh... he was so close to danger this whole time? If Remus had been any later...

"Dad!" Kayden called, and the halfling quickly ran over, jumping over the couch and landing on the cushions on his knees.

He pulled his son into a hug, holding on tighter than he ever has before. He felt a hand grab onto his wrist and looked down to see Cecil was still on the ground, trembling in fear. The orc fae bent down and pulled him up, holding both of them into a hug.

"Are you two okay? Were you hurt?" he asked, tears of relief stinging his eyes.

"No, no we're fine," Kayden answered, pulling away. Tears stained his cheeks, and Cecil didn't budge from Remus's arms. "Where's Sidney? She-she was trying to- and they-"

Remus could see Kayden was starting to dissolve into panic. "She's outside, Roman has her."

Kayden felt more tears spill down his cheeks. "Oh she was hurt wasn't she? It's my fault, I should have- I didn't stop her!"

"Hey, no no no, it's not your fault," Remus argued. He heard unfamiliar shouts coming from outside. Were there more? "Come on."

He grabbed their hands and pulled them towards the door, peeking out to see Roman had already taken care of the rest of the intruders.

"Sidney!" Cecil shouted, rushing over to the angel who sat up against the wall. One of her wings was wrapped up by a bandage, red staining her feathers and clothes. Her skin was pale and sweaty, breaths coming in and out fast and shallow.

Kayden quickly followed the genie and the two of them pulled her into a hug.

"I'm-I'm fine," Sidney told them.

"Oh no you're not, we're taking you to the hospital after this," Roman told her, anger seeping into his voice. "Remus-"

"I know," he interrupted his brother. "I'll stay here with them. You go check to make sure there aren't any more intruders. Just make sure to kill them for me."

Roman nodded his head before he disappeared. Remus didn't hear any sounds of struggle, but he was too focused on the kids. Cecil was crying his eyes out, leaning his head on Sidney's shoulder. The angel had a few tears slipping out, but she was barely conscious. Kayden held her hands, his eyes looking from her wing to anywhere else for any other injuries.

Remus opened his mouth to say something, but he didn't know what, so he just sighed. Anger boiled his blood. This has Wolfsbane written all over it, but it was still going too far. They came to their house. They endangered these kids! Were they looking for Roman and Remus? And how did they know where they lived...?

"Alright, there's no one else," Roman said, appearing next to Remus. "Let's get her to the hospital."

He moved forward and the two boys moved out of the way. Roman carefully picked Sidney up. She hiccuped as she put her arms around his neck, a few more tears slipping out.

"It'll be alright," Kayden told her. "You're going to be okay."

"Remus-" Roman turned to him.

"I'm staying here." Remus interrupted, anger taking over his voice. He took a deep breath before continuing. "I'll take care of the bodies and if there's anyone alive, I'm interrogating them. Cecil, Kayden, go with Roman and Sidney."

Cecil nodded and took Kayden's hand, but Kayden stayed still for a moment.

"Stay safe, please?" he asked Remus.

The orc fae gave him a smile. "Don't worry, bud. I'm going to be okay. You just take care of Sidney. For both of us."

"Okay," Kayden agreed, his voice becoming wet with tears. "I will."
