Logan didn't appreciate the sprinklers that went off, but it didn't make him let go of Patton's hand. He was lost in thought as his fiancé led him upstairs and through the halls. If Patton wasn't working with Wolfsbane, then he had to be working with Bleeding Rose.

Bleeding Rose, although still an illegal gang, was actually a pretty good one. They often donate to hospitals, and manufacture illegal medicine to give to those who can't afford it. It was a million times better than a drug that is highly addictive and does horrible stuff to people's bodies.

And now they're going after the leader of Wolfsbane. Patton has to know more than Logan, if he can lead them to the leader then Logan can finally arrest him! Out of the two gangs in the city, Wolfsbane is the worst.

Who was the leader? It has to be someone powerful... Someone dangerous.

Patton shouldn't be here, he could get hurt! And if not hurt, then he could be arrested.

Logan tightened his grip in Patton's hand and pulled him aside into a room, looking around to make sure it was empty first. He shut the door and locked it.

"What are you doing? We have to keep going!" Patton told him. What if Virgil was fighting by himself right now? He could be hurt! He could be killed!

"Patton, you can't be here right now," Logan told him. "I know you want to help, but I don't want you to be in danger."

"You're in just as much danger as me!"

"No! You're in more danger because of the police! Right now, by not going outside, you're resisting arrest! I hope no one has seen you yet, we just need to get you somewhere safe." He looked around. "Maybe you can go to the back and-"

"Logan, this isn't the first time I've been in a fight! That happens when you're in a gang, even when you're in a safe position. Sure technically I'm only a secretary, but it's still dangerous. This town is dangerous!"

"There's too many of them here!"

"So you think it's better if you work alone?!"

"I have back up!"

"And so do I! Somewhere..."

"You mean the gang members that are being arrested right now?"

"It's not my fault this is a three way fight!"

"Patton, you need to go home. I can't stand the thought of you getting hurt."

The nymph took his hands. "Logan, if we win here today, we'll be a million times safer. Let me help. There are people I know that are fighting here, people I know! I'm going to fight whether you want me to or not." He let go of Logan's hands and went to the door, opening it.

"Fine, but stay by-" Logan was interrupted when there was a loud explosion. He felt the walls and floor shake with the force, and he grabbed on the doorframe just in case.

"It sounded like that was nearby!" Patton said.

Footsteps came from down the hall and unfamiliar voices. "That was this way! Come on!"

"Was that near Black's office?"

"Ah shoot," Patton cursed, backing up into the room.

"What are-"

"Shh!" the nymph held up his axe, dull side down.

As the footsteps came closer, he swung down and hit someone on their shoulder. They fell to the ground with a shout of pain and held it, no doubt something was broken. But there were two more, and they both held different guns.

Logan pulled Patton in and shut the door closed, locking it again. "Are you crazy?!"

Patton was going to answer but gunshots rang through the air, the sound deafening. Both of them got out of the way, going to opposite sides of the room as the hinges were shot off. The door was kicked down. The two came in, each pointing their guns at the other two.

Patton threw his axe as hard as he could, using the wind to keep it spinning in the air and curve around the person aiming the gun at him, who dodged it anyway. Instead the axe hit the person aiming their gun at Logan, knocking them out.

Then Patton took off running to avoid the bullets. He heard the loud bangs, and the sound of shattering. He dodged behind a desk and looked at the wall to see explosions frozen in ice- from ice bullets.

There were loud footsteps and two almost simultaneous bangs from two different guns, but only one shout of pain. Patton felt cold take over him as nausea rose up, Logan was the one who shouted.

The nymph didn't think about anything as he came out from cover and tackled the person to the ground. He grabbed the collar of their shirt, lifting them up before slamming them back down as hard as possible.

The person groaned in pain but was completely dazed. Patton kicked their gun away before rushing to Logan, who curled up and held his leg. Red stained ice came from a wound, but not too much. The crystal must have only fractured, but it was still in his leg, and it was clear that Logan was in pain.

"Oh my gods- oh Logan I'm- I'm so sorry," Patton cried, hands hovering uselessly. Logan needed help, how could Patton-

The sirens outside. There were ambulances. They could help him, he just needs to get outside.

Patton looked to the window. "O-okay, I need to move you."

Logan let out a sob and shook his head, his tears mixing with the makeup he wore to hide his blue freckles. The sight tore up Patton's heart but he still grabbed him from the armpits and pulled him towards the window. The movement must have made the pain worse, as Logan shouted in pain as his leg moved.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry," Patton mumbled his whole way there.

As he got to the window he remembered that the police were out there. He lifted up his shirt to hide half of his face, biting it so it wouldn't slip before opening the window, pushing out the net. Shouts came from below as people looked up.

Patton's biggest concern was getting Logan down safely. He held his shirt before shouting, "Injured officer! We need medical help!"

The police looked a mixture of confusion and worry, some even pointing guns at Patton. He hoped that they wouldn't shoot, especially as he lifted Logan with his wind magic, the elf whimpering in pain. The medics were getting a stretcher ready, thank goodness.

Carefully Patton moved Logan out of the window and down to the street. No one shot at him, which couldn't relieve Patton more, and the medics rushed over and helped him onto a stretcher. Patton stayed for a moment as it was moved away and brought inside an ambulance. The doors closed and Patton turned away, moving away from the window and leaning against the wall.

He let out a sob as he curled up into himself. Logan had to be okay, he just had to. He can't die, he can't, not when their marriage is so close!

At first he was afraid that Logan would dump him when he found out, and now he's afraid that he'll lose Logan because of an ice bullet! He wasn't bleeding out, the ice stopped that, but there will definitely be some damage.

Patton stayed there for a few minutes, trying to compose himself. He scrubbed the tears away from his face harshly before getting up, grabbing his axe. He couldn't stay here any longer. He wanted to help Roman and Virgil, but he can't stay here and risk getting hurt or killed himself while Logan's going to the hospital with an ice crystal in his leg.
