Chapter 19: The absence he gave

-

This chapter is short.

Plus, old english dialogues would be in normal english only 'cause-

1. It's easy for all of us.

2. I'm lazy

-

"She looks so different, so ethereal, doesn't she?" A woman said, smiling down at a baby.

"She does, and that's why, we'll name her Misty."

-

"I don't lose, cuz I AM MISTY!" A little girl wobbled her way around the grand hall. Two adults and some servants looking at her lovingly.

-

"That's not how you did it Misty. Look, she does it so accurately." The tutor spoke.

"I know, she's good at everything." The girl said, raising her hands again and pointing her arrow at the target.

-

"That's so good, Misty! I'm so proud of you, my lovely daughter." A man said, kissing the girl's forehead.

"We're all proud of you." Two females smiled at her.

-

"Why?"

"It's your birthday."

"I don't need anything, you know that."

"I find the need to give you something, so I do." A girl said sternly.

-

"She....she's what?" The girl asked.

"I'm sorry."

"She'll be okay, right?"

"The medicines should work fine."

-

"You should focus on the kingdom, father. I'm here for her."

"I'm glad for that."

-

"YOU TOLD ME SHE'D LIVE."

"I'm sorry your highness-"

"I DON'T CARE FOR THAT. SHE SHOULD HAVE LIVED. YOU TOLD US THIS."

"Calm down, princess."

-

The girl sat at the big window, wondering what her life had become. How could any of that happen? The kingdom was a mess.

-

"Take care of them...for me." The note read.

-

Just as things were starting to go back to normal...

"Mother...Father...

Mother...Father...?

MOTHER...FATHER...ANSWER ME!"

-

Misty woke up abruptly. Her head was spinning. All the memories that she had seen in her sleep, they did some kind of magic on her. Something that completely changed her. Her state weakened, she suffered.

She felt like she was dying all over again.

She regained her posture and looked around, finding no one but a small note.

"I'm out, but wait for me. ;)" She read in her mind, her lips curling up ever so slightly.

She stood up, stretching herself and walking around, feeling active again.

That wasn't new for her. She was used to these memories coming up on certain days. That day being her mom and dad, the king and the queen's anniversary.

She sighed as she walked back to the living room. Looking around if Ash was there, or maybe Lucas, having a new job for her. She would gladly accept anything at that moment, trying to distract her mind.

Afer finding absolutely nothing, and fighting the urge to go back to the hallway and getting in trouble again like what happened before, Misty forced herself to grab a book and plop down on the couch, starting to read while waiting for Ash.

She closed her eyes in between, trying to stop herself from going back there.

-

I watched as mother and father went towards the gates of afterlife from beside me. I wanted to stop them, to scream them to come back, to not leave me alone, but I couldn't do any of that. It was supposed to be a peaceful departure for every soul, restricting me from doing anything violent.

As if reading my mind, mother and father stopped. They slowly turned around, looking back at their daughter.

Seeing me, they just smiled.

No words were spoken, nothing moved, it was just us staring at each other. It was an eye conversation, as if they were telling me that they'll forever be watching over me, from wherever they might be.

That I wasn't alone, they were with me.

Still having that soft smile on their faces, they turned back aorund, peacefully and gladly going through the gates and vanishing into the afterlife.

Who knew what would happen there.

They were satisfied with their life. They were peaceful people, never raged war, but gave an excellent back answer to it.

They were satisfied with the life they led, resulting in them having no regrets.

Although, I was a different case.

-

Misty opened her eyes again, wondering why wasn't she able to control her mind that time and going back into her memory, thinking about those moments.

Days were surely getting hard.

But this time, she didn't feel alone.

Because, she had Ash by her side.

-
