While the trio approaches me, I notice a carriage following them from a distance. I suppose they got another high-pay escort job. I move forward to greet them.
"Hello there! You've come at the wrongest time!" They really have. I simply hate being interrupted when I'm about to start designing new drones.
"Hi! We'll be out in a jiffy, don't worry. We're just here to make sure the princess is escorted into the zone you control, then leave. We're enlisting into the army anyway. Gotta show those Human bastards what we're made of." Unsurprisingly James answers while Kyrth, who I felt activating mana sight, just shudders and hides away behind William. I suppose this high a magic stat is just incomprehensible when 80 is considered exceptional to non-magical races.
If he was a Dragonoid, I think 800 would have been an exceptional stat for his level, but he's a lizardman, so 80 is about as high as it goes at Tier 1, AND AGAIN WITH KNOWLEDGE FROM THIS WORLD THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE.
WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?
I don't really have the luxury to tear my psyche apart at the moment though, so I'll ignore it.
I just task a war crime trio to escort her to the Spire, and the three adventurers leave. Finally, I can get down to business
I need a way to spy on the Humans. I could easily make a copy of a human body, but they are over-engineered and overall super-inefficient. So instead I make some reasonably large bugs, only large enough to have a single high-quality eye on them, and a way to hear.
in the end, they cost 2 Biomass and look like somewhat bigger roaches with wings.
I make as many as I can, quickly burning through all my remaining Biomass.
A bit over a thousand are made in just a few seconds and a veritable swarm of them emerges from the green pool at the center of the Nest.
I make them obscure the sun over my main body's location. then in barely a second, they stream away, landing every once in a while, to take their position. A good dozen make it to the Human base.
They don't even care that there are oversized bugs in their base. In fact, they barely notice.
In a stroke of incredible luck, I overhear a conversation between two soldiers eating in what I assume to be the mess hall.
"We just aren't ready to face an opponent that well-trained, Bjorn. We'll get slaughtered like group omega did." I doubt he's high-ranking since he has soup in his beard, but where did he even get this info?
"I hear you, friend, but I doubt they weren't simply ambushed. Group omega was known to be inattentive hot-headed bastards. Any enemy even reasonably coordinated could have killed them."He takes a pause to take a bite of his meal, then continues. "Besides, you don't even have any proof that they're dead. So far it's just an insane theory born from paranoia, formed mostly from overhearing command strategize the invasion." I don't think I need to worry if they're all like this...
In any case, tomorrow they attack.
That means I'll get to make 1 more unit type, and I need it to be good.
I need something to pierce through enemy defenses, something that isn't the Gyakusatsu.
It's even better if it's a ranged unit, which shouldn't be too hard if I include magic.
I wonder how hard it'd be to make an actual cannon, but out of flesh.
Now that I think about it, the muscle fibers the heart uses could be used that way, if timed properly, just need to summon some amount of dense metal in a shape reminiscent of a bullet and boom, Armor-piercing gun.
