*IMOGEN'S POV*

As soon as I got home, I started getting ready for tonight.

I was even more excited about it now than I was before. It was going to be a perfect night and nothing was going to ruin it.

I would make sure that it was perfect because there was nothing that could ruin it.

I was just adjusting my hair when there was a kncok at the door, I thought that it was Tom; until I looked at the time. It had only just gone six and he was never that early. He was either late or on time. But he was rarely early, so I knew it wasn't going to be him.

I slowly walked down the stairs and opened the door to see Max stood there. He didn't look like he came for a social chat. In fact he looked pretty annoyed about something.

Give you one guess what that is and I'll give you one guess who told him.

"What do you want?" I asked, not even bothering to see if he wanted to come it. I didn't want him in my flat, just like I didn't want him in my life.

"To talk to you, that alright?" he replied like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"No, that's not alright. What do you want to talk to me about?"

"I wanna know what's going on between you and Tom..."

"My life has nothing to do with you anymore, so why are so concerned about it?"

"You're pathetic foer using Tom to get back at me and Taylor. He deserves better than you!" Max sneered. Anyone would think he was jealous and that he didn't want me to ever move on.

Shame about that because I don't care what he thinks. I don't care what he wants. And I don't care what he says either.

"You might not know this Max, but not everything is about you and that slut. He might deserve better, but he's the one that made the move on me first so you can just mind your own business!"

"If you don't remember, 'that slut' used to be your bestfriend. Why can't you still be like that?" Max asked. That's possibly the most stupid thing to ever leave his mouth since I've known him. 'Why can't you still be like that?'

He must be joking.

"Exactly, it's the past tense for a reason. Why would I want to still be bestfriends with the girl that ruined my happiness?" I questioned back.

"You could just give her another chance...."

"She's never getting a second chance, that would be like you getting a second chance!" I replied and soon as I said those words, I saw his face light up. Like he actually thought he stood a chance with me again. Even though I've told him before that it's never going to happen, he broke my heart and there is no fixing that.

I'd never be able to trust him again and I'd be too paranoid to ever let him do something on his own.

I could never go there with Max again. It would be too muc trouble for the both of us.

And I'm happy with where things with Tom are going right now. So Max can bugger off to be honest.

"You know I'm sorry for the way things turned out between us!"

"Yeah, you're always sorry Max and it just isn't good enough anymore. Now I'd like you to leave because I'm trying to get ready..."

"Ready for what?"

"My date with Tom, is that alright with you?" I pretty much shouted at him. He was beginning to annoy me now with all this constant questioning. It's not like it had anything to do with him anyway.
