Nothing...happened.

Nothing did happen.

The elevator dinged and she smoothly walked out. Her brain felt fuzzy and the thoughts contained within were bouncing all over the place like colliding pinballs in the machine. When was the last time I tripped? It may have felt insignificant, but she started dwelling on her tripping in the elevator while trying to get her mind off of Ryuga. She honestly couldn't remember the last time she had fallen down that wasn't caused by someone else. Her ridiculously incredible balance wouldn't allow her to fall on her own accord. Maybe she was just overthinking it and was just her desperately trying to not think of the raven hair she just touched without permission.

(Y/N) left the elevator and almost ran straight back to her dorm. She couldn't bear to even risk seeing Ryuga after what she just did. It wasn't just embarrassment that she's never felt, but the look on his face. She wasn't used to people looking at her without anger or resentment. She couldn't handle seeing that Ryuga not only didn't look angry, but he even smiled at her. It sent warmth across her entire body that took all her strength to ignore.

Back in his own dorm, L was posted at his desk and kept his tired eyes on the screens. Despite telling the other members of the task force that he had removed the cameras from Light's room, he still had a couple there as a precaution, and no one knew about the ones in (Y/N)'s room except for Watari. He didn't want to stress out Soichiro more than he already has.

From his view, she was simply sitting on her sofa with a random book. He couldn't exactly get a good look at the book from the monitors, but it seemed to be a horror novel of some sorts. In actuality, it was one of her favorite books: The Shining. She read each page and flipped to the next faster than he had ever seen anyone read before. There are quick readers, and then there's her.

After a couple minutes, a computer that was sitting next to the monitors started beeping. He turned his head while brushing his hair out of his face and opened up the laptop. The screensaver with the gothic letter 'L' filled the screen and brightened the room. "Yes, what is it?" His monotone voice asked the computer. "Ryuzaki, we need you back at the hotel." Watari's voice responded over the speakers. "Alright. I'll be there shortly."

With that, Watari hung up as he closed the laptop. He slipped his toes inside of the soles of his shoes, not bothering to put them on all the way or tie them, and stepped out of his dorm.

Over the monitor that he didn't turn off, (Y/N) stood from her spot on the sofa and put her book down gently on the cushions. She stood up and walked to the middle of the room with her arms crossed over her large hoodie. Her head turned to look all around the room, staring at varying details on the walls and floors. On the wall, her head stopped turning and her eyes squinted. Her head tilted in confusion as she approached the wall. She saw a little black dot on the wall that she knew was never there before.

When she got closer, she realized she was too short to reach the dot, so she grabbed one of the bar stools in the kitchen and carried it over to the wall. On her knees on the unstable stool, she carefully reached up and just barely managed to grab the dot before the stool gave way. She landed on her feet like a cat and carefully stood the stool back up on its legs.

With the little dot in the palm of her hand, she brought it with her as she sat back down on the sofa next to her book. She lifted her hands really close to her face and studied the black circle. It looked like a camera of some sorts. Her big eyes squinted as she tried to decipher what it was. Then her hands lowered and she glanced around her, the dead silence feeling so loud. This dot was suspicious, so she quietly put it down on the coffee table in front of her at her knees and stepped away from it.
