Ashley and I were friends for ten years before we realized we had developed feelings for each other. After that, we got together and have been dating for almost three years. I love her with all my heart, but she's been pissing me off lately.

I know she has a busy schedule, especially because she's the Smackdown champion and she's in a big rivalry with Ronda Rousey.

I know she's busy, but Ash has always made time for me before. Even if it's taking me with her if she can't. I can't always do that. I have a job too. Our conflicting schedules make it difficult. I knew what I signed up for, but I didn't think it would get this bad.

Hopefully it won't be bad today. Today marks our three year anniversary. "I'm home!" I just got back from visiting my cousin. I'm glad to be home and I'm ready to spend the day with Ashley before she has to leave. I walked to our shared room and stopped when I saw Ash is packing her bags. "Hey, babe."

She smiled at me, but kept packing. "Hey, how was the trip?"

"It was nice, good weather too. You ready for tonight?" I grinned with excitement.

"Not really, there's nothing special going on other than promos." My face fell and I felt my heart drop. "I've been called in early. I'm leaving in a few minutes once I'm packed."

"You're leaving? Like right now?" Ashley nodded and sighed. "You can't leave, Ash. We have plans tonight."

She looked at me with confusion. "I dont remember us making plans tonight. Besides, I have to go, you know this. They need me."

I groaned and rubbed my eyes. "Have you ever stopped to think that I need Ashley more than they need Charlotte?"

"Have you ever stopped to think that this is my life? I am going to Wrestlemania Backlash to defend my title against Ronda again and I'm gonna win. Wanna know why? I'm Charlotte Flair, the fucking greatest Smackdown Women's Champion ever!" She pointed at herself.

"Well maybe you're not the greatest! If you're so great Ash, then you'd have remembered that today is our goddamned anniversary!" I stopped because I needed to calm down. Ashley's face dropped after I said that.

She looked at the calendar I have beside our vanity. "Shit, that's today? Babe, I'm so sorry." She reached out to me, but I backed away.

"Save it, Ash. I'm going to my mom's." I grabbed my bag from the floor and walked away.

"Y/n, wait!" It was too late because I already stormed out of the house.

A few nights later, I had tuned in to watch Wrestlemania Backlash. Even though I'm angry with Ashley, I still love and support her. I don't really care about any of the matches so far. I'm not a fan of WWE. I only watch it when Ashley is on.

I left my phone on the kitchen counter as I made myself a batch of chocolate chip cookies to munch on. Coincidentally, they finished baking just as I heard the announcement for the Charlotte versus Ronda match.

I made myself a plate and went to my room to watch. It was a brutal match, especially since it's the first time I've seen an "I quit" match. This particular fight worried me. I was able to remain calm until it happened.

A chair was brought out. My girlfriend tried to use her submission with it, but made the mistake of bringing up Ronda's child. Ronda ended up winning after that. All I could do was watch in horror as Ronda broke Ashley's arm in order to win. My helpless girlfriend held her arm in agony.

Ashley came home early the next morning. I had woken up to the sound of her coming in the door. I threw the blanket off of me and ran out to greet her. "Fucking hell, Ash." I latched onto her for a hug.

"It's ok, babe. It's just a slight fracture. I meant for it to happen." I pulled away from the hug with confusion.

"Why would you purposely want to cause a real injury? What is wrong with you?" What has gotten into Ashley? I know her! What would bring her to basically self inflict this injury on herself?

"Babe, I've been way too busy to spend time with you. I love being champion, but I love you more. I have to take time off to heal. That means I get to make up for our anniversary and spend more time with you." She pecked my lips, then my cheek. "I'm sorry I forgot our anniversary. I'm also sorry for letting my job and title get in between us."

"I don't care about that right now. You need to rest, Ash! Come on, I'll make you some tea and cookies." I brought Ashley to the living room and sat her down. I ran to the kitchen to brew some tea from the Keurig and I grabbed the plastic container I put the cookies in.

I made the tea how she liked and brought everything to her. I sat the container on her lap and the mug in her hands. "Thank you, Y/n." I sat down next to Ashley and snuggled up beside her. "I meant what I said. I'm sorry I haven't been the best girlfriend lately. Especially when I forgot about our anniversary."

"It's ok, Ash. Really. You'll have plenty of time to make it up to me now." We turned the TV on and watched whatever show was on.

Ashley ate some of the cookies I gave her. "Mmm, these are good. Are they homemade?"

"Yeah, I made them last night. I got hungry while I was waiting for your match." She pecked my lips and kept eating them.

I had stayed up late, so I found myself dozing off. It feels great to hold Ashley again. I had missed this the most. "Are you tired?" I nodded and felt Ash move a bit. "Honestly, so am I. Let's go back to bed and take a nap."

We got up from the couch and went to our room. We crawled into bed and snuggled up to one another. I was careful with watching for Ash's arm. "I love you Ash."

I felt her kiss my cheek. "I love you too, Y/n."
