Biana POV:

I stood outside Rimeshire, shivering and wishing I'd worn a different tunic. Fashion is awesome but not always very practical. I probably should've known I was going to get cold since it's like always snowing at Dex's place but I wasn't thinking straight this morning. Great. Now one of my flaky moments was going to give me pneumonia.

I knocked on the door, jumping up and down, trying to warm myself up. Bex answered the door.

"Oh HI BIANA! I guess you want to see Dex..."

"Uh yeah, where is he? He wasn't answering any of my hails!" I told her.

She groaned, letting me in. "Of course he wasn't! I wish he'd tell us what the problem is!"

I was about to ask her what she meant when Dex's mum, Juline dashed up towards me, wrapping me up in a huge hug.

"Thank God you're here Biana! Maybe you'll have a chance of getting him out of there!" She said.

"Out of where?" I asked.

"His room." She answered, practically dragging me up the stairs. Bex skipped along beside us.

"Wha- why? What's he doing up there? I'm so confused!" I sighed, trying not to trip.

Juline chewed her lip. "Maybe it would be better if I just showed you..."

They came up to Dex's room and Juline knocked loudly, calling, "Dex! You have a visitor!"

I listened for a reply, but there was no answer. Instead, I heard the sound of somebody pressing a button, and then a computer voice said,

"Dex Dizznee is currently working on his gadgets. Please leave any meals outside the door."

I blinked and Bex rolled her eyes.

"Yeah he does that every time we try to get him out of there."

Juline knocked again, giving up after he pressed the button again and she lead them back down stairs, ignoring the computer voice.

"I have no idea what's wrong! Dex just went into his room one day to hail...um...Keefe...just before he left, and then he never came out again!"

"Yeah it's super weird!" Bex agreed. "I even used my phasing to melt through the door, but he just ignored me! And I'm not easy to ignore!"

I felt my stomach sinking and Bex grabbed my hands.

"Aww don't look so heart broken! He'll stop sulking soon!"

She spun me around and I had to laugh. And as Bex danced around with me, I realised something. I don't know if I realised this because I'm a vanisher that always has to sneak into places where she isn't wanted, or because I was just having a rebel moment.

All I know is that I realised that Dex has a window.

One that's big enough to climb through.

*Later*

I was hanging off a slippery, ice covered pipe and cursing mentally.

I was cursing the snow. I was cursing my shivering arms and slippery fingers. And most of all, I was cursing the fact that Dex's bedroom was on the third story.

Other than that, it was a lovely day.

My muscles burned as I pulled myself up onto a ledge just below his window. Maybe I could levitate the rest of the way? No, I wasn't good enough at levitating to do that. I mean, if I fell I could probably use my levitating to break the fall a bit, but I'm not that good.

It felt as if my arms were on fire as I gripped onto the ledge desperately. I pulled, draining all the remaining energy that I had out of my body. I tried to flip a leg over the ledge, but it slipped off and I frantically grabbed onto the side of the window with one hand.

I could feel myself slipping and I dug my nails into the ice. I knew that if I fell, I wouldn't have enough energy to levitate now.

I closed my eyes and relived all my memories with Dex. Taking his hand when we went back to the place where he and Sophie were kidnapped. Tackling Stina with him on the way to the king's path in Loamnore. Joking about Team Valiant names. All the quiet planning together when we were excluded. All the jokes. And laughter. And love.

These memories gave me just enough energy to pull myself up further and use my other hand to bang on Dex's foggy window. It was slippery. So slippery. Slipping.

"HELP! HELP ME!" I screamed, knocking as hard as I could. "HELP! PLEASE! PLEASE SOMBODY HELP!"

I squeezed my eyes shut and replayed my memories over and over, my throat burning as I screamed. My grip was lost and I could feel my fingers falling one by one.

I coughed and reached up for one last knock as the final finger dropped...

But instead of hitting glass, someone grabbed my hand.

"BIANA!"

Okay so I was planning on doing more to that chapter, but it's getting long and I want to switch to Dex POV so I'm gonna make a part 2. That means you have to wait to see what happens next.

Sorry! I know it sucks but I'll try to write faster!
