Alexa, play Boyfriend by Dove Cameron!!

This chapter contains information about myths from Hawaiian and Greek mythology. If any information is missing, it is probably voluntary. I didn't want it to be too long. There are always several versions of a single myth so maybe this is not the version you know.

I also tried to give a picture of what a toxic and abusive relationship feels like: but of course every experience is different and not everyone react the same way. Please take this into consideration.

TW: Mention of physical abuse/abusive relationship, anxiety attack

"You shouldn't order this for her."

Elijah stared at Theo, his expression impassive and his tone a casual but firm symphony. I found it hard to breathe.

"Excuse me?" inquired Theo, a palpable tension in his voice.

Elijah held the menu up to my boyfriend. "See what she' d like here instead."

With these words, he indicated the meat section, his finger lingering lightly on a chicken curry that had made me salivate as I read the menu.

"Also, that salad is full of cheese. You want her to puke on us?" he calmly completed.

Theo's face paled. Pamela scowled. The waiter coughed.

A whirlwind of confusion sent all my thoughts hurtling.

How could he know...?

My gaze met his. The challenge in his eyes was palpable, like cold fingers stroking my chin and urging me to lift it. To assume. 'Tell me I'm wrong,' they said.

The waiter broke the silence, swallowing loudly, "So, which of the two boys is right?"

Embarrassment traced a meandering path to my face. I bit the inside of my cheek, as hard as I could. And that was my little punishment to myself for my coming weakness.

"Theo," I blurted out uncomfortably. "I really like shrimps and I don't mind cheese that much. Let's stick to The-"

"Yasemin, damn it," Theo cut me off in a breath. "You're allergic to shrimp, you already told me and I fucking forgot.

He wore a sheepish, almost pained expression. "Shrimp, lobster... it makes you get red patches on your face."

Discomfort asphyxiated us with his sprawling, slimy arms for a few seconds where I didn't look at anyone. Because what he had just said was true. And it was also fact that cheese made me nauseous.

Theo finally cleared his throat, hastily taking Elijah's advice about my order. The waiter appeared relieved to be done with our table when he left.
