Prologue

Why can't a good girl fall in love with a good guy, and why can't he love her back? Why can't it be that simple? It's impossible though.

These were the words Irva scribbled into her notebook on a boring September morn during english. It was quite a suitable thought because the class were discussing whether Romeo was really a good person considering the treasons he commited to get Juliet.

At this time she did not know Ted.

Irva was of the mindset that teen relationships did not work. It was just a fact. Teens were "immature" and had "raging hormones", that's what her mom said. Irva also didn't understand why kids were in such a rush to grow up. She agreed with all this until, well, Ted. She hated how cliché teen couples sounded, how sappy, and attached they were.

Boys were like ice and girls were like fire. They didn't mix. They were polar-opposites.
