She's got no bite mark. The words travelled around my but I couldn't figure out their significance. From my attacker's tone, it was bad though. The one called Andy paced around the bathroom, muttering 'shit' repeatedly. My attacker stood up and faced Andy, blocking his path. 'What're we gonna do with her? We can't leave her here, she'll expose us.' My attacker deduced. 'I don't know, Shaun. Use your frigging brain for once!' Andy snapped, glaring at him. 'You're supposed to be the leader and I'm sick of picking up after you.' He added. My attacker rolled his eyes. The only thing I'd learnt from their conversation was my attacker's name. Still, it was good to know.
As they glared at each other, I decided to make my presence known again, since they'd seemingly forgotten I was here. 'Uh, hello?' I began, pleased to find that my voice still worked after three days of not using it. 'Still in the room, here. Would you mind telling me what the hell is going on?' I demanded. Admittedly, I was pretty confused. One minute they'd been plotting my murder, the next they were snapping and snarling at each other. Andy jumped slightly and he looked to me. His eyes softened momentarily, then hardened again as he looked at Shaun. 'He'll explain.' He said, simply. Then he headed out of the room, an air of annoyance still about him. Shaun rolled his eyes again and looked to me. I returned his gaze, expectantly, and he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly as I got to my feet. 'Right, then. First off, what's your name? I'm sure you've gathered by now that I'm Shaun and the permanently pissed one is Andy.' If I'd been in any other situation, I would've laughed. However, I already disliked Shaun and I was trying to be civil so I could find out what had happened.
'Lolita Mitchells.' I replied. 'Well, Lolita, we're vampires. Basically, what happened to you is similar to what happened to us. Andy and I are in a band. We went backstage after a show one day and after that there's just blackness. I woke up three days later and I've been this way ever since. I'm guessing it's been the same for you.' He stated. I nodded, keeping my expression guarded. 'You were meant to be my meal the other night. You were alone and you looked helpless. Unfortunately, you ran away with my venom in your system.' Shaun concluded. 'So, I'm a vampire then?' I clarified. 'Yeah. Sorry.' He apologised, though his tone wasn't very sincere. My civil act vanished at his confirmation. 'Well that's just great. Thanks Shaun.' I said, sarcastically. 'Goodbye life.' I muttered.
Shaun sighed. 'You'll at least need to know how to live as a vampire, right?' he said, ignoring my mood for the moment. Reluctantly, I nodded. He took a seat on the edge of the bathtub as he began to explain. 'Okay. So, we don't burn when we go in the sun, but it does weaken us. If the light's too bright, you'll pass out. We have to drink blood to survive. We have fangs, but they're retractable. Stakes have no effect on us. Stay away from fire; it'll burn you. We can run faster and are stronger than a normal human.' He listed. 'Any questions?' he added. I shook my head. 'Right then. I'll introduce you to the others.' He concluding, standing up again.
We headed into the living area again, where Andy and a brunette were standing. 'Andy, Bradie, this is the newest edition to our clan, Lolita Mitchells.' Shaun said. Bradie smiled at me. It was a kind smile that reached his chocolate brown eyes. He had a boyish look to him. He was dressed in a plain white t-shirt, a black leather jacket and pair of black skinny jeans. I smiled a little at Bradie and Andy. Though I hated Shaun, there was no need for me to be rude to the others. It wasn't their fault I was like this now.
I stopped smiling as I remembered Mel. 'Was there anyone else here when you showed up?' I asked, addressing the question to Andy and Bradie. They shook their heads. 'My flatmate, Mel, went off with this guy in a club the other night. I'm just hoping she's okay.' I explained. 'It's probably best if you're not here when she gets back.' Andy suggested, not unkindly. I nodded.
'You can live with us until you're used to your new life.' Bradie told me. 'Thank you.' I replied, smiling warmly at him.
Shaun, Andy and Bradie took seats on the couch, while I began packing. I pulled my suitcase from under my bed and put my clothes in. I grabbed a change of clothes and headed into the bathroom. I was dying to get out of the silly little red dress and heels Mel had put me in on the night Shaun had attacked me. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't have been comfortable living with someone who'd attacked me, but if I was stronger and faster than before, I figured I could fight him if I had any more problems with him. As I changed into a pair of black skinny jeans, a pair of black and white Converse and a Fall Out Boy t-shirt, I noticed the change in my appearance. I stopped and stared at the mirror.
