Maybe a bit too shiny to handle

When you can see a different shade that is not white, you know spring is near. At least that is how I learned to differentiate between the seasons. They are short. Like, I blink and wow it is fall. And now it will be spring which means my fellow gems will be awake.

Skipping away from the mini mountain I looked around me to find an animal that awoke from their slumber. Did not see any. What a shame, but their loss. Even the crunch beneath my shoes was becoming slush. Which might be worse.

I do wonder about the fact that in my short life there haven't shown up any Lunarians. Not yet, I reminded myself. Those cowards are waiting for a moment to strike? I'll make sure no one gets taken. I smile a little bit thinking about that fact as I'm already nearing the residence that's more or less in a better situation than it was at the start.

Time to wake up the gems! I'll be able to enjoy Red Diamond's company again. My legs felt light as I neared to the room where the gems are slumbering.

Slamming the door open it is as dark as I remember. Ignoring the gems for now I skip to where the window is supposed to be and rip off the blanket. The sun frantically slipped in every corner illuminating the room in light colours.

The pile of dust was glaring at everyone as it was flipping in the air toying with me and reminding me, I'll have to clean it. Sighing, I sat next to Red Diamond on the whitish ground. Poking them with gloves on my hand they did not move. I poked them again. Didn't work. Again.

Wow. This year Red likes to sleep, no? Ruffling their hair, I stood up dissatisfied to go wake up Fluorite.

"Don't you even dare poke me..." Someone mumbled grumpily as they sat up. Their hair sticking in every direction and clothes almost completely off the body.

Fluorite didn't look happy to see me. Are they still upset about the incident a little while ago? I shrugged and still sat next to them to do my daily check up on them.

"You know I'm awake right? That means you don't have to check me over every single time." A sleepy glare was on their face making them look like a cat. "Plus, I don't believe that you, yourself aren't tired."

Awh! Do they care about me? Somehow, Fluorite sensed my thoughts and glared harder at me. Smiling innocently, I tackled them locking them in place. A crack was heard. Oops.

Sighing loudly Fluorite exclaimed, "You never learn, do you?" The deadpan on their face was hilarious. I'm glad that they don't worry about the fact, I crack them every other day.

"Did Red Diamond wake up?" They pondered out loudly. I frowned at them in annoyance. Looking at my face Fluorite concluded they did not and tried to shove me off. More cracks could be heard in the quiet room which meant more pain to put the shards back together.

Getting off Fluorite I, again, marched to Red Diamond who was still sound asleep. Shaking them carefully with hopeful eyes Red Diamond moved the other way, away from me. Bruh. ''You should just let them rest because it doesn't look like they will awake anytime soon,'' Fluorite quipped with lazy eyes.

How sad.

When I was finishing assembling Fluorite back to normal my favourite gem came in which was Red Diamond. Ha. Shining as brightly as ever they greeted, "Hai~. It looks like, I didn't wake up at the same time, no?" Red Diamond didn't look apologetic but was very happy.

''Considering how other times you slept a few weeks longer this might be considered a record for you." Someone did not hide their distaste at the behaviour. I could never.

Tilting their head almost blinding us they questioned, "Did you report to Sensei? I didn't see him anywhere nearby. Is he still meditating?''

Shaking my head, I stood up and pointed outside. Walking near a cabinet I picked up white powder for Fluorite's face. ''Oh, then we should all go together to him.''
