The Upside down

The thing still had hold of me and Steve as we went through the gate, it wasn't letting go. I started to panic and so did Steve, I was trying to wiggle my way out as it dragged us into the pile of things just like it. There was red lightning and rumbles of thunder before we heard what was coming our way.

loud screeches were coming from behind us and I quickly got up ready to make a run for it but Steve wasn't moving it was waiting to see what it was. Coming out of the red lightning was these bat-like creatures heading our way before they started attacking. Steve quickly picked up a paddle from the floor and started swatting them away from us. I managed to find a stick strong enough to keep them away for a bit "Steve be careful ones coming your way"
He couldn't reply he had already been taken down by one of those 'things' it had its tail around Steve's neck practically strangling him.
I tried my hardest to kill the ones that were on me or at least get them away so I could help Steve. I could hear him grunting in pain so I tried rushing over and hitting a few off him before one of them wrapped their tail around my ankle and tripped me. I was now laying directly opposite Steve

"It's gonna be okay Steve Nancy and the others will come and find us I'm sure of it"
He was too distracted by the things that started hitting us which made us lose quite a bit of blood. I tried to get a glimpse of what they were doing to Steve and I could see he had way more on him and the one on his neck started hardening its grip. I began to lose hope and started to give in to these small but scary creatures that were until Eddie and Robin started hitting them off us.

"Hey there," Robin said as she was beating the bird-like creatures.
"Hey Y/n looks like you need some help there," Eddie said jokily 
"Yea no shit" I replied while trying to get up with one still attacking me.
I ended up chucking that one on the floor and stomping on it a couple of times before helping Eddie with the ones that were on him.
I started to run over and hit as well as kill some of the birds that were attacking Eddie, even though he seems like he had it handled.
"Looks like in your knight in shiny armour" I joked as I continued to kill some of the bird/bat-like things.
We all gathered in a bunch to make sure we stuck together and the 'things' started to go around the red thing and screech at us.
"All right. There's not that many."
"We can take them... Right?" Steve said
As if right on cue a swarm of them came flooding out of the clouds
" yea I don't know about that anymore" I answered
"The woods. come on." Nancy said as she began to lead us.
"Great. More running" I heard Robin grunt before I started trying to catch up to the group and Eddie
