Ashton: age 24
Luke: age 23

It's been a year of marriage between Luke and Ashton, and they couldn't be more in love. They bought a house near the beach, and are about the take the next step in their marriage. Now, their currently driving to an adoption agency.

"What if she doesn't like us?" Ashton asked driving.

"She will, she's only 2 Ash calm down," Luke said reassuringly.

They received a call 2 months ago that there was an australian girl named Amanda that was put up for adoption by a teen mom and she's only 2 years old, and she seemed perfect for the husbands.

"Yeah, you're right Luke, I'm good now," he said and kissed him quick and continued driving.

Once they reached the building, Ashton took Luke's hand in his as they walked inside. The lady at the front desk greeted them, and told them to wait 5 minutes for Amanda to be brought out.

"I'm excited," Luke said grinning jumping a bit in his seat.

"Me too," Ashton replied and soon the woman came back holding a baby girl who was wearing a hello kitty shirt, pink shorts, and white shoes. Her blonde hair matched Luke's and her eyes were hazel like Ashton's. And to think she was adopted and looked just like them.

"She's beautiful," Luke said as the woman handed Amanda to her.
"Hi cutie, I'm Luke and this is Ashton, we're going to be your new daddies ok?" Luke said bouncing the little girl in his arms.

She smiled at him, her little teeth showing and Ashton grinned at the cute sight. She started making fussy noises and Luke continued bouncing her making her giggle.

"She seems very comfortable with you guys, I just need your signatures and any last name changes and then she's all yours," the woman said and Luke handed Amanda to Ashton and they walked into a room where there were forms to be signed.

"Would you guys like to keep her name, or change it?" she asked.

"We'll keep it, and just change her last name," Luke said and the woman nodded as he wrote 'Amanda Hemmings-Irwin' on the blank space where she is officially a part of their family.

After they signed the papers, they thanked the woman for finding Amand for them, and soon they left and placed her in the car seat they had bought. It was princess themed, Michael picked it out.

Once they got to their house, Ashton took Amanda out of her car seat and carried her inside with Luke trailing behind him. He flicked the lights on and he was met with the faces of his friends and family.

"SURPRISE!" they all yelled and there was a 'Welcome home Amanda' sign hanging with a cake.

"Guys, this is amazing! Thank you," Ashton said and Luke went over to his mum and hugged her.

"Now, where's my grandbaby?" she asked and Ashton handed Amanda to Liz.

"She's adorable, spitting image of you guys," she said and Ashton's parents also had to chance to hold her.

Michael did as well, and he had this adoring look on his face and she played with his hair, that was a bright pink color. Calum laughed at the sight. They were both pronounced the godfathers, and Michael's wife Michelle the godmother. Calum is still looking for someone, but he has a job that has him travel a lot.

After the party, they opened all the gifts Amanda had received. She got a barbie play house, a ton of clothes from their mums, Calum's sister Mali and Michelle. Also, a baby's first guitar so she can be just as musical as her daddies.

"Now we're complete," Luke said watching Amanda play with her barbies.

"Definitely," Ashton replied smiling as Amanda showed him the barbie and continued playing.

The rest of the day spent watching Amanda play with her new toys with a smile on her face, Luke and Ashton are definitely lucky to have her in their lives now. They couldn't have asked for a better baby girl. She'll make friends in no time, but they worry for her since not a lot of people are accepting to same sex parents. But, they'll make sure to protect her from the bullies.

Night time came along, and they brought Amanda to her room down the hall from theirs. The walls were painted pink and there were butterflies on the ceiling. They added glow in the dark stars to the walls so she's not scared at night. There was a changing table, and a white rocking chair with a small shelf of books. It was the perfect room for their little girl.

Ashton changed Amanda, and Luke put her in her crib. Before they left, they heard her fuss again, Ashton lifted her from her crib and rocked her.

"What's wrong baby," he asked rocking her.

"Dadas," she said and they both looked at each other for a minute and smiled.

"Luke! She said dadas, can you say it again Amanda?"

"Dadas, dadas," she said waving her small arms giggling.

"Wow, thats awesome she already knows who we are," Luke said and he gave Ashton a kiss and put Amanda back in her crib and watched her fall asleep. She was the cutest sight they've ever seen.

Luke and Ashton went to their room and changed into their pajamas.

"I can't believe she said her first word already," Ashton said as he stared at the ceiling.

"Yeah, its amazing," Luke said and Ashton looked into Luke's eyes and kissed him passionately. They pulled apart and looked into each others eyes.

"I'm so lucky to have you Lukey," Ashton said and Luke smiled and kissed his lips.

"Likewise Ash," he replied and Luke being the tallest spooned Ashton and kissed his bare shoulder.

They soon fell asleep and during the middle of the night Amanda started crying 'dadas'.

"I got it," Luke said and he came back moments later with Amanda in his arms and started rocking her. He got into bed with Ashton and placed Amanda on his chest.

Ashton thought of an idea and told Luke what to do, so he grabbed his guitar and Ashton started to sing, "Go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep dear Amanda," he continued to song and Amanda was soon asleep on his chest and Luke put his guitar down and rested his head on Ashton's shoulder.

"We're definitely lucky," he said and Ash nodded in agreement and soon the three of them fell asleep with smiles on their faces.
