CHAPTER 6: GOING ON A QUEST

ANNABETH

Argus left them near Greyhound station and they boarded a bus from there. It seemed so much like their first quest. They discussed what to do. Finally they decided to see where the bus drops them.

It drove all the way to Oklahoma. It took more than a day and surprisingly without any monster attack. Spoke too soon. After giving money and coming out of the bus they saw an empousa. Percy was going to attack her but Annabeth stopped him because it didn't seem she had come to attack them, "We should see where she is going. Maybe she will lead us to a lair where some of Chaos's monsters are."

They followed her and she led to them to a school. But then she changed herself into an human. "Why would she do that. Nobody can see her as empousa anyway because of the mist" Grover asked. "That's because she is going to kill a demigod and they can see through the mist so she is in disguise" Annabeth answered.

"What do we do?" Carter asked. Annabeth, Percy, Grover and Thalia looked at each other, "Plan Westview is a go!" "Just without losing anyone due to a manticore" added Grover.

Percy, Annabeth, Grover and Thalia had to climb the building which was very hard while the Kanes turned into birds and flew up. They got in through the windows and found themselves in the corridor.

They weren't lucky because a student saw us with weapons and ran. Annabeth didn't what he saw the weapons as but she knew that they sure still looked dangerous.  They spotted the empousa going inside a class. While a janitor spotted them, "Who in the basket are you?" Thalia snapped her fingers, "Oh we are students."

After he went , they glanced through the door into the class. She was acting as if she were the teacher. Then Annabeth saw some that surprised her and doing that wasn't easy. She saw Piper Mclean, her friend who is a daughter of Aphrodite and  of a famous actor, Tristan Mclean. She tried to get attenton but it was not easy.

Then she saw her get out of the table killed the empousa. All the kids were astounded after that. Probably they saw Piper hitting a teacher with a chunk of wood instead of her knife. Thalia broke into the class and again snapped her fingers.

Mist was really complex to understand because the kids still ran away in fear. After that they met Piper, asked how she was doing(atleast some of them) and told her about the quest and recent events. "I hate prophecies" she said, "And this one seems more dangerous."

Suddenly they heard footsteps of a teacher nearby. Piper guided them out of the corridor, then she took a rope from janitor's closet put it out of the window and got down through it. Annabeth was the last one and she thought probably the teacher saw her. They then removed any signs of the rope.

They got out through the gate. "Someone might see me ditching the school.I have another way" Piper said. That was right. As she was famous, everyone knew her. She wouldn't want to anyone see her. On the middle of the road was a sewer tunnel entrance. "Are you sure uh, um, Pipe?" Sadie asked. "Oh yes and it is Piper. It is dry and leads straight to the backyard of my house."

Through the sewer entrance, they easily reached Piper's house. Annabeth noticed one thing that Piper maybe the first daughter of Aphrodite who like to cross from sewer tunnels. Annabeth was careful that everyone got out. Piper had a grand house with three floors. She had big main hall at the ground too.

They had a nice cup of coffee and chatted about the two prophecies. Suddenly Sadie exclaimed, "I can't find Carter anywhere." "You mean your brother? He told me that he was going to the kitchen for more coffee" Piper said. "He's not there." Percy said. "I had seen him come out" Annabeth said. "It might be a good chance to use the acorns" Thalia gave an idea. Grover nodded.
