CHAPTER 8: CARTER GETS AN IDEA

Carter wanted bash Leo's head in his garage store even if he didn't knew him. His store was so not easy to find. They almost got killed by switchblade demons. "Ooh, hi Percy and Annabeth and Thalia. How are you? I see you brought some friends. Are you here for business or for just visiting? Though latter one is not so frequent nowadays."

Carter didn't know this guy but he still felt bad. It was true they had come for business. "We want a ride on your dragon. Can you lend it to us?" Percy asked. "Yeah well what-" Leo was cut off by Sadie, "You have a dragon?!!!" "Yes I do. Now, what will I get in return for lending it to you?"

That was expected by Carter but Percy and Annabeth looked at Leo like someone had just punched their faces in. Then Annabeth came forward, "See Leo, we just want a ride on festus to Camp Jupiter. No need to lend him to us." "We are old friends dude." Percy added.

"Huh? Old friends. Do you know my other old friend. Have you met him? Oh wait, he's dead. Want to know his name? Jason Grace, son of Zeus or Jupiter, one of the seven Gaea Slayers, Krios slayer, deceased praetor of Rome and my best friend" Leo yelled at them. Thalia looked down at that. Then Carter realized both were siblings.

But he had enough of this, "See I don't know your friend and I am sorry for your loss. But you have to help us or Chaos will devour the whole universe. We are not saving just the world anymore, it had risen up to universe. Gods, Magicians, Demigods, Mortals, everyone could fade.  And we need all the help we can get. If you can't help us then okay! We will find another way. But I want to plead a last time. Can you give us a ride on your dragon?"

"But Jason got killed because of Apollo and the gods. And you want to save them?" "Leo, Jason was a good friend. And died for a honorable cause. You should honor that by helping us. Besides it's not about saving Gods but the whole universe. Help us, please?" Percy pleaded. "Leo, he was my brother too but that doesn't mean I backed away after his death. We need to move own. We don't always get what we want." Thalia told him. "He was a good leader and a praetr" Annabeth added. "He was courageous and brave" Grover said. "I never knew him but he seems like a good person" Sadie too consoled.

"So will you help us?" Percy brought his hand forward. Leo finally agreed and nodded, "For Jason's sake, heck yes I will."

Festus was a bronze dragon which was shining. Carter was finally going to see Camp Jupiter which Percy usually talked about. "It's going take us 3 days. Fasten your seat belts, it's gonna be a sweet ride" Leo told them.

After total eight hours of flying and eating some canned food, they finally got out stretch themselves and rest. "How many drachmas have you got?" Annabeth asked Percy. Percy took out three golden big sized coins with symbols on them. She took one from him and tried to something,  She dropped it in the waterfall nearby and said "Oh Iris, goddess of the Rainbow, please accept my offering. Show me Chiron at Camp Half Blood, Long Island."

Suddenly, a rainbow shimmered but it disappeared just as soon. "What were you trying to do? Carter asked Annabeth. "Oh me, I was just trying to contact Chiron but it is not working."

"I have an idea" Carter casted a communicating spell and a portal like structure opened, it showed Walt. "Hey Walt!" Walt turned, "Carter where are you. Is Sadie okay?" "Yes we are okay. See, Chaos is coming. He created the universe  and now he will destroy it. Tell Amos. I want you to defend the Brooklyn house and all the nomes at all costs, okay" Walt answered, "You got it but-" The portal closed.

"It was only for a short time" Carter told Annabeth. "Can you do it for Chiron?" Carter tried but he could not get the image of Chiron in mind. Leo's voice came over, "Let's go babies, ride has just started."
