CHAPTER 7: CHAOS IS THE WORST

CARTER

Carter was thinking about the sewer tunnel when he heard a familiar voice from the connecting tunnel and he was about to follow it but Annabeth told him to come. So when all of them were drinking coffee and chatting, he decided to go there. He heard the voice getting louder and louder.

He recognized the voice as Set, "Horus save me. Chaos has captured me, save me." But the voice faded just as soon. The he heard another voice from behind, it was of Sadie. "Carter?" she asked.

They all scolded him for going without informing any of them. He told them what he heard. They took him up to Piper's house. They decided to sleep their night there. Percy, him and Grover shared one room and the girls shared one. There was big bed and a bunk next to it in each room. Carter slept on the upper bunk, Percy on bottom one and Grover lay heavily on the bed.

Carter was minding his own business when he heard Percy's voice. "Why did you ditch us all back there?" he asked. He decided to not answer it, "You know I had an encounter with Chaos last year." "Yeah Sadie told Annabeth and she told me. You never met Chaos itself but you fought some of his army." Percy replied. "Yeah, Chaos gave gave his army to Apophis to cause destruction. Maybe he was the reason for...Gaea and Kronos. Sadie thought that it was not the last of him. Maybe she was correct."

Percy then said, "You know, I too had an encounter with him. Me and Annabeth made it through his realm. It was terrifying. Chaos's realm lies beneath Tartarus, a place I never want to go again". "We too went to place called Sea of Chaos. It had a pillar which first rose from Chaos."

"That can't be!" Percy exclaimed, "Could this place be connected to Tarturus?" Grover stirred in sleep because of Percy yelling. So they decided to talk anymore, so Grover does not start moaning for food and not let them sleep.

In the morning, they made Grover use acorns again, it came out that they should go northwest. Percy gave the idea to go to a place called Camp Jupiter in California. "But it will take you half a month to reach even if you do not go the whole way on foot" Piper declined, "Do one thing, look for Leo. He is somewhere in Oklahoma only. He could give you a ride."

 Carter didn't know him but others agreed except Sadie. "Have you got any idea where he is now" Annabeth asked. Piper hesitated, "Look for a garage store named LEO AND CALYPSO nearby." They bid their farewell and went to find Leo. They had no means to locate the Garage store so they went to a nearby State Government office which was easy to find since it was near Piper's house.

Percy and Thalia searched for it others waited for them so they do not cause attention as why a crowd is inside the office. They found out that an army of Switchblade demons marching towards them. Percy and Thalia burst out of the office, "it is located near the place where New Mexico and Oklahoma meet."

The demons didn't scare any person because of the Du'at. Probably they saw police marching instead of demons but that didn't matter, they were still scared. They ran at full speed. "What are these monsters" Thalia asked. Carter didn't bother telling, he was too busy running. But then they found themselves on a dead end. They were forced to fight them. "Chaos isn't so bad, you should join him" they said before charging.

They were fighting them at full force but the demons were still winning. Sadie and Annabeth were strangled. But they had weather at hand, Thalia was giving lightening shocks to everyone of them. Percy tried his water thingy which didn't work at all. "What? Why isn't it-" Percy was cut off as he was thrown backwards by a demon. Grover hit that demon like it was made up of rubber, "That's what you get for pushing my best friend, monster."

Carter and Sadie used many spells on them. Annabeth was clever, she would lead a demon one by one towards herself, sidestep and cause maximal damage to their back. Slowly and slowly they started winning. Even though Percy couldn't use his signature thing, he could still pick up his sword and fight. Every demon turned in yellow doves as they were killed. "Haha! We win losers" Sadie yelled at top of her voice.
