Just For a Little Bit (On Hold)

I look at Josie with a smile. "Can I see your schedule?" she asks. I give it to her instead of saying anything. She takes a bit to look it over. "Do we have any classes together?" I ask. "Uh...2" she answers. "2nd, 6th, and we have the same free period" she adds, giving me the paper back. "Mmm. When's lunch?" I ask. "Right before 4th period, which is our free period" she answers.

Before I know it, students start flooding in. Josie and I's hands are still connected, so I pull them into my lap. A bit later, Faith and Kaylee sat next to us. I gave Faith her schedule. Once the assembly started, I started playing with Josie's fingers, trying to pass time, and not really listening or paying attention. Josie leans close to my ear, and whispers "Your hands are really soft". I chuckled quietly, and glanced up at her. Though, it was only a second before I looked back at our hands.

For some reason, I felt like someone was staring at me. I looked up, but Faith, Kaylee, and Josie were looking forward. I started looking around, and sure enough, I saw Josie's ex burning holes into the back of my head. I pettily give her a friendly smile, then turn back around. I say a quick silencing spell, then lean closer to Josie, and whisper "Your ex is staring me down pretty hard" in her ear. She leans in like I did, and whispers "Let her stare".

Though, she leaves a lingering kiss on my cheek before pulling away. There's a tingling sensation where she kissed me. Much like my lips when she kisses me. I brought our joined hands up to my lips, and kisses the back of hers. She smiles widely at me, in which I return the smile. Before I knew it, the assembly had ended, and students were starting to go to class. I stood up, and the rest followed suit. "Which class do you have first?" I ask Faith.

"Uh...science" she answers. "Me too" I say. "We'll walk you guys, then go to class" Kaylee says. Faith and Kaylee walk a little ahead of us. We walk in silence the whole time, though, our fingers remain interlocked. When we make it to the classroom, Faith walks in, and Kaylee waits outside. "I'm gonna meet you in class" Kaylee tells Josie, walking away when Josie gives her a nod. She turns back to me, and asks "Can I see your phone really quick?". "Of course" I answer.

I give her my phone, and since I don't have a password, she gets right in. I'm not sure what she's doing on it, but whatever it is, I'm fine with it. A minute or so later, she gives it back. "Text me when you get bored" she tells me. "Ok" I reply, chuckling. She looked like she was about to turn, and walk away, so I grabbed her chin gently, then pressed my lips onto hers. The kiss lasted about 30 seconds, then she pulled away. "As much as I want to continue this, I have to go" she says.

"Ok" I repeat. Though, I lean in again, and move my hands to her waist. She puts her hands on either side of my face, and pulls me closer a bit. The kiss was cut short by someone pulling me back. I looked up, and saw that it was Faith. "That's enough. No one wants to see that" she tells us. I chuckle again, and give Josie one last peck. "I'll see you guys later" she says, walking away.

Kaylee POV

I was walking to class when someone walked up next to me. I roll my eyes, and sigh when I see who it is. "What do you want, Jade?" I ask, obviously annoyed already. "Does your sister have a girlfriend?" she asks. "Yes" I answer. "How long have they been together?" she follows. "Almost 4 months" I say. "How come I've never seen her before? And why didn't I see her yesterday, after school?" she continues. "You've never seen her before, because she's from New Orleans, and she lives with us" I tell her.

"Now, leave me alone. And leave Josie alone too. She's obviously been over you, so give it up already" I add, walking into the classroom, now irritated. I sit in my usual seat, and cross my arms over my chest. It was a few minutes before Josie walked in, and sat next to me. "What's wrong with you?" she asks. "Jade" I answer. She furrows her eyebrows, then asks "What'd she do?". "Being her usual self. She kept asking me questions about your relationship with Hope" I answer.

"What kind of questions?" she asks. "How long you've been together, and where she's from. Stuff like that, but I told her to leave me alone, and leave you alone too" I answer. She nods, and looks forward. A minute later, her phone goes off, and she pulls it out. I'm guessing it's a message, because she smiles widely at it. I think she's blushing also. "Who texted you?" I ask. "No one" she answers. I don't believe her, so I quickly snatch the phone out of her hand, and look at it.

It's a message from Hope, which says "I miss you already". She tries to take the phone back, but I move it out of her reach. I type "I miss you too, baby", then send it. Now, I let her take the phone. "Why would you say that?" she scolds, hitting my arm, but not hard. I ignore her with a small smirk on my face.

Hope POV

It's now 3rd period. I'm trying to find the classroom, but I can't seem to. I reluctantly walk up to this girl, and say "Sorry to bother you, but this is my first day, and I can't find my class". She gives me a friendly smile, then says "Can I see your schedule?". I give it to her, and a few seconds later she says "Oh, I have the same class. We can just walk together". I agree, and we start walking. "My name is Alex, by the way" she says.

"It's nice to meet you, Alex. I'm Hope" I say, smiling. "Nice to meet you too" she replies. We continue to walk in a comfortable silence. When we walk into the classroom, I see Faith sitting in the back. "Uh, thanks for walking me" I say. "It was no problem" she replies. I give her one last smile, then walk over to Faith, and sit next to her. "Hey" she says. "Hey" I reply. "Who was she?" she asks. "Her name's Alex. I couldn't find my way here, so I asked her" I answer.

"Turned out she had the same class" I add. She gives me a look, but I don't know what she means by it, so I ignore it. "So, what are you and Kaylee doing after class?" I ask. "I don't know. You?" she replies. "I'm going to the grill with Josie" I answer. I hear her whisper a silencing spell, which makes me furrow my eyebrows. "You know, I think you like her" she tells me. "And not in a friend way. I think it's more than that" she adds. "What makes you think that?" I ask.

"The way you act around her, the way you look at her, the way you kiss her. I mean, honestly, I could go on for days" she answers. "I act the same way around her, as I do you, and everyone else" I say. "No, you don't" she replies. "How do I act around her then?" I ask. "You're much more relaxed around her...more then I've ever seen you with someone you just met. You're more calm, and yourself. You only act like that around family, and people you love" she answers. "She's just easy to get comfortable with" I say.

"That's it? You're just comfortable with her?" she asks, like she doesn't believe it. "Yes" I answer. "Ok" she says simply. "I guess you're right" she starts, sitting back in her seat, and shrugging. "I'm just delusional, right? I mean, what do I know" she finishes. I roll my eyes, and do the same.

So far, all of these chapters were pre written, and I only have one more, so after that one, which will probably be posted Friday, I'm gonna take a bit of time to write some more chapters. Anyways, I hope you all have an amazing day/night ❤️
