I recommend you read the original Soul of Yokai before reading this if you haven't yet. You can download it on the Google Play store or download Otomania on the App store if you're have Apple. You can also watch it on YouTube if you search it up.
Also I want to make some points.
MAJOR SPOILERS FOR ORIGINAL STORY AHEAD
1. This book contains depictions of trauma and mental disorders. I personally don't suffer from these so they may not be fully accurate. And also obligatory !!!TW!!!
2. This AU contains Nami as a main character and I am going to give her my own personality because she didn't get enough screentime to have a distinguishable personality aside from really liking Yokai which isn't really a personality and more of a trait. This is just my own personal headcanon on what I think her personality would be like.
3. If you hadn't already read the description, this is an AU where characters' roles are swapped so some characters are going to have drastic personality changes to fit the roles they now have. After S1 ends, this rule is no longer applied since I couldn't implement every season 2 character as well as adding other characters.
4. Building upon the previous point, this book also contains an OC (or two if you take Nami as one since I built her character) in it. It's just Nami's sister and she doesn't play a major role in the narrative.
5. MC will also be given a full name since we can't just call her "MC" and it would be too tiring to use euphemisms throughout the entire story.
6. This book also contains my own lore and history on the Yokai World and the main characters since I noticed some inconsistencies/vague details when reading Soul of Yokai. E.G Back when Nami was alive, Yukio was shown to look like an adult which happened 100 years ago from the present time in the story but the first time he and the MC met, he looked like a child which I presume happened no later than 30 years ago from the present time in the story since the MC can't possibly be an old geezer and in the present time in the story he looks like an adult again.
7. I will be putting Author's Note in the comments instead of the actual chapter.
8. Getting the names wrong is 100% intentional. It's supposed to be a character trait of Nami so don't comment saying I got the name wrong, I know I did.
Anyway, that's all that is in my mind right now.
