You Still Care About Humans

When I opened my eyes, I found myself on the floor of a forest. I rubbed my back from the pain of being dropped.

"Where am I?" I asked myself.

I soon saw a nearby town and I walked over to there. But when I went over, I saw that everyone was wearing kimonos, hakamas and yukatas. The women had their hair tied up in buns.

Soon, it hit me.

You won't be returning home if you go in it. Instead, you'll be going to a completely different time; future or past.

I'm... No... It can't happen like this...

I soon opened up my bag and brought out a canteen of water. I took a sip from it. When I swallowed, it calmed me down a bit. I put it back into my bag when I soon saw a certain item—Sakuya's whistle.

I fished the whistle out of the bag and I ran back to the forest.

Will this work? Well, Sakuya did say that he would come if I blew into it from the human world. Let's just hope he can still hear it from a different time period!

PHHHHWWWEEEEEEEEE!!!!

After a while, no one came. I decided to blow onto it again, just in case.

PHHHHWWWEEEEEEEEE!!!!

I looked around but still, nobody came.

Of course it wouldn't work! Why would it travel through time?! You can't hear something that is in the past! It can call him when you're in the same time as him! You! Stupid! Idiot!

I started hitting my forehead as a reprimand.

I soon heard flaps of wings behind me and I turned around to see Shuya. My heart was soon filled with glee.

Man, he was a sight for sore eyes.

"What in the world are you doing here?!" Saku scolded.

"Shuya!" I ran towards him, "It's a long story! I'll tell you once we get back to the inn!"

"You'd better have a good explanation!" Shuya yelled.

Wait, did I get his name right for once?

Shuya soon held me by my waist and I wrapped my arms around his neck. We soon took off and eventually, Shuya flew into the portal and we arrived at the Cave of Time.

Shuya soon lowered me down.

"Okay, let's return to the inn by walking. As we travel there, you tell me what occurred." Shuya ordered.

He grabbed me by the arm and started walking.

From his tight grip, I knew he was mad. But still, there was a bit of nervous shifting in his fingers that still told me there was some other emotion inside him.

"Well, when I got back to the inn, I found Hayato there. He was pacing around and he was angry with me! He thought that I had exposed a secret of his that no one else knows about aside from me! He was given a note that said to—" I started to tell what happened.

We both came to a stop when we heard shouting.

"Nami!" Hayato yelled, "Nami! Can you hear me?!"

"Nope!" I jokingly answered.

"Yeah, right!" Hayato responded.

"Anyway, where were you?!" I asked.

"Whaddya mean?! I was tryna search for you for the past 10 minutes!" Hayato replied.

"Wait. Where's Yukio?!" I yelped.

"I dunno! I was tryna find him as well!" Hayato replied.

"Wait! Wait! Hold on!" Shuya shouted, "You're telling me that you came over here with Nami and Yukio without telling me?! Not only that, but you lost both of them, too?!"
