She Isn't Welcome Here

I soon woke up from my sleep. I soon sat up and still saw the inn room around me. For a moment, I was expecting to see my regular room but of course, all the events of yesterday came back to me. It was still crazy to think of it. It was almost like I got trapped inside a book. A weird, fun, whimsical and fantastical book.

I soon got up and saw the wardrobe filled with clothing. I picked out a sapphire blue kimono. It didn't quite fit, it was a little loose. But I didn't want to go out in my pajamas so I had to make do.

I soon heard thump-like knocking at the door. I went over and opened the door. Hayato was standing there, with a little unease.

"Oh! Hello, Hyouto!" I greeted him.

"Um, it's Hayato."

"Oh, sorry! Hello, Hayato!" I offered, "Do you want breakfast? I was about to make it."

"No. I just wanted talk to you." Hayato stated.

"Oh, alright. Take a seat."

I soon gestured to the kotatsu and Hayato took a seat and I decided to sit at the opposite end.

"So what did you want to talk about?" I questioned.

"Do you remember me?"

It was an odd question to ask. Since when do you meet someone and the next day they completely forget you? I mean, some people do that to you but they don't actually forget you, they're just teasing you. Or sometimes when people are old, they forget things but that's not their fault and I'm nowhere near that age.

"Huh? Yeah, I remember yesterday." I answered.

"That's not what I am talking about." Hayato growled.

"Wait, then what are you talking about?" I raised a brow.

"Did you forget?!" Hayato exclaimed.

"Wait, forgot what?" I asked.

"How we met!" Hayato told.

"You mean when you saved me?" I responded.

"No!" Hayato shouted, "Not that!"

"Then I have no idea what you're talking about!" I explained.

"When we were kids!" Hayato shouted.

"Hayato, you must be mistaking for someone else. We never met as children." I retorted.

"We did!" Hayato exclaimed before scoffing, "Whatever, I got my answer now."

Hayato soon stood up and walked out the door, "See ya."

The door slammed behind him. He was definitely mad but what for? I never met him as a child. He couldn't have possibly gone to my school, he's a Yokai. Although, he had a human form. But for what reasons would he need to go a human school? Surely the Yokai have their own education, even if they don't learn the same things humans do. And even if he did go to my school disguised as a human, he wouldn't have been able to keep the secret forever. Someone would've found out and then told everybody. After all it's what—

Ugh, stop thinking, stop thinking.

I soon made breakfast for myself from whatever was available. After eating, I walked outside of the inn with a bright smile on my face.

I looked around at all the Yokai with a friendly smile on my face. But I soon saw the way they were all looking at me. They all had disgusted looks on their faces, like I was some sort rat that got run over by a car or I just vomited on them and their clothing.

What did I do? Am I not wearing the kimono right? I think I am. I've worn kimonos before whenever I celebrated the new year, no one told me I wasn't wearing it correctly. Does my hair look messy? I combed it. I always do. It'd be hypocritical of me to not take care of my hair as a hairdresser. Why is everyone looking at me so disgusted?!
