"What do you mean?" I asked.
Sakuya soon got in front of me and soon started looking intently at the portal. Sakuya soon pointed at an area at the portal.
"Look, a part of it had been ripped out." Sakuya pointed out.
There was indeed an imperfection in the perfect circle like you had ripped it. How did that even happen?
"You can't go back now." Sakuya stated.
"It's small though, are you sure?" I replied.
"Yes, I am sure." Sakuya explained, "You won't be returning home if you go in it. Instead, you'll be going to a completely different time; future or past."
"Wait, so I am stuck here?!" I shrieked.
"Unfortunately, yes unless you're fine with living in a completely different time period."
I immediately felt disappointed.
"Wow..." I uttered, "Guess all those goodbyes were for nothing."
"Yeah..." Sakuya soon pinched his nose and sighed.
Again, I felt a compulsion to try to comfort him. I soon walked up to him and gave him a hug.
"We'll find a solution, okay?" I assured.
"Y-You're right. Yeah, we'll find a way." Sakuya replied.
Sakuya soon backed from my hug.
"Have you thought of anything brilliant to do?" Sakuya asked.
I soon played with my hair as I started thinking.
"Are there any other portals? Even if they take me someplace that's far away from Kyoto but still gets me to the right time?" I asked.
"No, this is the only one." Sakuya clarified.
"I see." I nodded.
I soon started to look at the portal.
What was this even open for? If they don't want humans coming in then why would they not cover the entrance with a boulder?
"Sakuya, off topic, but if Yokai hate humans so much then why don't they block off the portal that is a gateway between the human and Yokai world? They wouldn't have any problems with humans if they did." I questioned.
"Because some Yokai do business in the human world." Sakuya stated, "Like I used to trade with humans before Karasu started murdering them."
"Ah. How about you go ask those Yokai about the portal?" I suggested, "Maybe they'll know something."
"Good idea." Sakuya remarked, "I'll take you back to the inn?"
"And then you go around town?" I replied.
"Sounds like a plan." Sakuya grinned.
We both headed out of the cave and I soon held onto Sakuya. He soon took off into the sky. We made it to the inn and I waved Sakuya goodbye. I started sneaking up to my room but I heard chatter and I soon stopped.
"Thank you for your business, we've been struggling as of late." The innkeeper spoke.
"It's no problem, we love this inn." The Yokai cheered, "But no worries, there's hope! Once, Hebionna gets around to making that 'Divider', we're golden!"
The innkeeper soon takes a while to reply, "But isn't the plan expensive? Our taxes have doubled since that plan has passed. And the family inn is suffering from bankruptcy... And my son's hospital bills are adding up. I'm afraid soon, we won't be able to continue treatment."
