"What... What do you mean?" Sakuya trembled.
"I believe I should briefly explain, brother." Karasu stated, "Would you kindly assist your brother with his mission?"
"A mission for what exactly?" Sakuya's eyes became skeptical.
I think he truly knew what Karasu's mission was but needed confirmation.
"To purge this planet of deceitful humans! We won't need to be scared any longer!" Karasu said with a manic smile, "It can be just like how it was before; just the two of us together!"
"No!" Sakuya asserted, "Although I love you, brother, I won't harm humans in such a way."
Karasu didn't seem to look angry at Sakuya and instead sighed.
"I predicted that you would say such." Karasu stated, "Allow me to reveal what has happened to me as a result of my trust in them."
Karasu held out his hand and then grabbed at his eyepatch. He soon pulled it off to reveal a frightening, disfigured eye.
"Ah!" I yelped in terror.
Sakuya covered in his mouth in sheer shock but soon took it off to speak, "Wh... What happened?"
"She... She did this to me." Karasu spoke sadly, "I know you told me not to speak to her, but I couldn't help being puzzled and in disbelief. So, against your advice, I decided to approach her when I saw her one day. I had no idea that the snake was carrying a knife. And so..."
He pointed at his eye.
Sakuya and I soon looked at him in horror.
Who in the world would do something like that? He didn't even do anything wrong at that point in time! Who could be that cruel?!
"Brother..." Karasu soon pointed at me with an accusing finger, "We are unable to live in peace because of humans like her! We have to get rid of them so they can't terrorise us anymore! Come on, join me! We can regain our security and joy!"
Sakuya stayed silent.
Wait, why isn't he declining? He's not actually considering, right?!
"N-No..." Sakuya answered, "I'm sorry you've had to go through such suffering, but we shouldn't kill off the entire human race simply because one individual mistreated us. This is not how it should be done!"
Karasu soon had a look of irritation on his face, "Still sticking by humans, huh? Or rather, this human?"
Karasu soon gazed at me with eyes filled with cold hatred.
"Since you are so blinded like the way I was, maybe I should get rid of the thing that's hindering you!" Karasu shouted.
Soon Karasu threw a dagger at me and it was heading towards me at an alarming rate.
"Nami!" Sakuya soon shielded me.
I soon heard the piercing of flesh and I soon realised what he just did.
"Sakuya!" I yelped.
Karasu coldly stared at us, "How pitiful. You would put yourself in danger to protect a cute little human girl. If you that's what you choose then don't blame me when the time comes for her to do the same and she leaves you bleeding out."
Karasu soon leaped into the sky and flew away into the sky.
"Sakuya! Are you alright?!" I soon went around him and saw the dagger in his back, "Aiyah... Does it hurt?"
I soon started to feel sympathy pains from the dagger in his back.
"Yeah..." Sakuya winced in pain.
"Let's go back to my house and I can treat it there." I soon helped up Sakuya.
