It's been a month and a half since we moved here, it's been a month since I met my neighbors, and when I tell you that the girl next door, is a total sweetheart, I would be lying. She is an stuck up, wanna be barbie type of white girl.
You know in the movies, the next door neighbor is usually a hot guy who's always working in his garage in nothing but pants? Well my neighbors are nothing like that! They are cocky, stuck up rich people who doesn't care about anyone but themselves.
If my mother wasn't going to be the principal of my new school I would have created a scene. Today is Saturday and school starts next week! Today is literally the last day of summer for foreign people. If I was in Jamaica, I would have a whole month but nnnooo, school starts back in August.
Since I have nothing to do today I'm going to finish packing and clean up. Mom brought me to a store and I bought three buckets of paint to paint over these blank white walls. The color I got was neon green, neon pink and neon blue, they are supposed to glow under this neon light I bought. Hope they don't lie to me.
I put newspaper on the ground and poured out the green which will be for my room. Don't worry, I can paint, my uncle teached me since he's a painter. I got my brand new roller and start my work. "No man. The place too quite." I said connecting my phone to my speaker. "Yea, now mi ready fi work." I said while playing Ding Dong, Watch dem.
"Watch dem Jordan, watch dem. A nuh everybody round real watch di pussy dem!" I sang while painting. "Tired a that now." I said while changing the song. "Roll deep fi mi dwag roll deep, full a killer and mi mean hole heep!" I sang.
If your wondering I'm the only one home, everyone else is grocery shopping and I didn't feel like going. My boom box was at full hundred and I could care less. Just hope nobody nuh report mi. "But any time uh heart too big them will tek uh fool dawg! This is why mi nuh like humans, this is why mi nuh like humans.
And mi cyaa too trust no girl when mi remember wah she do dawg! This is why mi nuh like humans." I sang. 80 minutes later I'm done with the room and started on my bathroom which I mixed a little of the blue and pink and got a pretty purple.
"Wooie mi know she but she nuh know mi! The buddy mek mi happy tho mi nuh own it! This a di orginal sidechick song! Mi up in a mi feelings fi a next gyal man! Mi know it wrong but it neva plan, normally mi a wife mi nuh own sidebitch position!" I singed to Shenseea.
Out of no where my phone started ringing, me being me, I ignored it. Ring after ring. "A when me get so important?" I asked my self. I walked over to the phone only to see it's mommy calling me. "Hello..... Yes mommy." I hang up and quickly turn off the music and head downstairs to where my family was waiting. Good thing I was finished painting because my working mood stopped the minute she called.
"Abigail Miranda Blackwood! You think we are still in Jamaica? I could here your dirty music from 10 miles away! Your lucky they didn't call police over here for noise pollution!" Mom yells.
"Please don't let it happen again or mi go tek the phone and sail it in a di wall. Come help pack out the bag dem before mi slap uh in a uh face tuh. Yuh not even seh mek uh play some gospel. Shenseea sidechick. You a side chick man!" She continue to cuss me.
I guess she's trying to change because normally she would of taken off her shoe and beat me with it. I did as was told before I get her more up set. When the things were finished packed out mommy started cooking.
If your a Jamaican, you already know what she's cooking, if you said soup, then your right. Her traditional Saturday soup. I head up to my room and pack up the excess paint and take up the gleaner and disposed them in a garbage bag.
I spread over my queen size bed with green and white sheets, I put my pillow that I got as a gift as a center piece and my teddy who I decided to name him Universal of colors, Uni or Ufc for short.
I put him against my head board at the back. I had other teddies that I put on my window seat. I bought some decorations that would give the room some life.
The first thing is led lights strip, I paste them from head board to the under neath of my bed. The second thing I bought was the neon light which is a lamp, I placed it on my bed side table.
The next thing I bought was some fake leaf thing that looked like a curtain, I placed that over my bathroom door. I then placed my pictures that are framed on my dresser and pack up my underwears in the drawers.
I also had a walk in closet that was the size of my bathroom back home, I packed all my clothes and shoes and the empty cases in there. I also bought a clock, some golden wall mirror and some paintings that I put up on my walls. To say I'm in love was an understatement.
I finally feel at home. Once I was finished I sit on the window and call Shay. "Hey girl." I said as she answered. "Hey, you finish with the room?" "Yes, you want to see it?" "Daahh." She said and I turn the camera and showed. "Have use man! It look good." She said.
"Thanks. Mi nuh see Manda one yet. She probably go leave it white." "Probably, so anything new?" She asked and I turn back the camera on my face. "Not really but a next week school a start." I said to her. "Eee suh early?" She questioned.
"Dat maah seh tuh." I said. We continued talking until it's dinner time. We said our good byes and I head down for my chicken foot soup.
