" something is coming...something hungry for blood. " mike spoke with suspense. all the boys felt a shiver go down their spine. " a shadow grows on the wall behind you, swallowing you in darkness. it is almost here. "

" what is it? " will leant forward anxiously awaiting mike to unveil the monster.

" what if it's the demogorgan? oh jeez we're so screwed if it's the demogorgan. " dustin put his arms behind his head anxiously.

" it's not the demogorgan. " lucas spoke up.

" an army of troglodytes charge into the chamber! " mike slams down a little figure onto the table. the boys relax.

" troglodytes? "

" told ya' " lucas laughs, dustin and will join in.

" wait a minute. did you hear that? " mike asks softly making the boys quite down. " that... that sound. boom... boom... boom! " mike bangs loudly on the table making the party jump. " that didn't come from the troglodytes, no. that came from something else. "

all the boys look around at each other in fear with no idea how this could turn out.

" the demogorgan! " mike slams the figure down even harder then last time. they all get up and start freaking out, letting out several curse words. " will  your action? "

" i don't know! " will gets up frantically.

" fire ball him! " lucas jolts up.

" i have to roll a 13 or higher! "

" too risky cast a protection spell. "

" don't be a pussy, fireball him! "

" cast protection. "

" the demogorgan is tired of your silly human bickering! It stomps towards you. "

" BAHHHHHHHHHH! " mike's sister bursts through the basement door. the four boy's jump up screaming, will throws up the dice as he jumped. " hah i got you nerd's, demogorgan ate you all yet? "

" missy what the heck, i told you we had a campaign today! the basement is mine for another 4 hours. " mike shouted at his blonde sister. she chuckled in response. " i'm serious, get out! "

" mike... mike! " karen wheeler yelled from the top of the stairs down to her son.

" mom, we're in the middle of a campaign. tell missy to get out. " mike stood at the bottom of the stairs pointing at his older sister.

" you mean the end? fifteen after." she pointed at her watch and started for the kitchen. " and melissa where have you been? "

" hailey's, i told you we were studying for exams. do you even listen to me? " missy pushed past her younger brother and ran up the stairs, mike following after her. " did you save me some dinner? "

" mom, wait, just 20 more minutes! " mike walked into the kitchen after his sister who was picking stuff off the plates his mom was cleaning.

" it's a school night, micheal. " karen scraped the rest of the mash potatoes into a tuber wear. " i just put holly to bed. you can finish next weekend. "

" but that'll ruin the flow! "

" michael- "

" i'm serious, mom. " mike started explaining with his hands to show how important it was to him. dustin slowly appeared from the top of the stairs with a box of pizza, making his way to missy. " the campaign took two weeks to plan. "

" extra slice of pizza, you want it? " dustin held the box open to missy. she nodded and took the box.

" fuck yeah. " the blonde girl shoved the pizza into her mouth and walked towards the bin, dumping the box in.

" language! " ted wheeler yelled out from the lounge, he was messing with the television barely caring for the bickering in the kitchen.

" how was i supposed to know know it was gonna take ten hours? " mike's voice dropped slowly as he finished his sentence, a bit ashamed.

" you've been playing for ten hours?! " karen and missy both said, shocked. dustin slowly went back to the basement.

" dad, don't you think that 20 more- "

" -i think you should listen to your mother." ted responded almost emotionless while playing with the tv antenna. " dang, damn piece of junk. "

mike huffed and went back down to the basement to join his friends while missy made her way up to her room. as she walked pasted nancy's room she couldn't help but listen in on her and barbra holland's conversation over the phone.

" yeah he's cute." missy's heart sunk straight away, she was talking about steve. " barb, no, no, i don't think so. barb you're not- "

" -gross. " missy stood in front of her older sister's door with her arms crossed.

" oh my god, melissa. go away you turd. " nancy got up and marched to her door, slamming it in her sister's face.

" he's only trying to get in your pants! " she yelled through the door. missy only wished that were true though.

melissa dawn wheeler had a crush on steve harrington since the second day of middle school when he was assigned a seat next to her in english. missy naturally had a knack for everything to do with in that class and lucky steve did not. the day he walked in late to class and took a seat next to her she was drawn to him. something about his puppy dog eyes and how he was just plain stupid. it made missy so confused how she could like someone who was such an opposite to her.

she always imagined herself with a very rich man, the type of rich the other women would be jealous of. a man who was smart and knew how to work hard, but steve wasn't that at all. missy used her smarts to her advantages to get closer to steve, often offering him for help when he looked lost. she loved the power she had that she could get closer to him just by answering questions she knew off by heart.

realising how she could use her knowledge on people, she studied all things law. she knew how to get in and out of every loop hole.

then she might of stolen a chocolate bar, then a coke zero which might have turned into a nice pair of expensive boots... she loved the thrill, knowing even if she did get caught, she'd most definitely get out of it. other then english she really had no other interests. just steve.

missy jumped on her bed straight on her back, kicking her shoes off in the process. she huffed rolling over, reaching for her walkman. placing the headphones on and pressing play. Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now by The Smiths started echoing throughout her room. she sighed and closed her eyes. listening into the lyrics, every word.

why do i give time to people who don't care if i live or die?
