They were soon forced out the hospital wing and went to the boys dorm dinner not seeming that appealing. "If Regulus is back, that means Sirius is in danger again" Peter said the one thing that was on everyone's mind. "You think he will be ok" James asked no one specifically. "I don't know but if Regulus is back then he's probaly in more danger then before he might get sent home again" Lily said. All these things were swirling in Remus' head and he could barely bare it. Why was it always Sirius who got hurt, he had been through so much already, he just couldn't deal with the fact that he would be going through it all again.
Madam Pompfrey would not let them into the hospital wing but finnaly when the weekend came round Remus was first to find himself delighted by a morning suprise.
It was the crack of dawn and the morning sun was only beginning to peep through the window. Remus was beginning to come out of his slumber because something was different, a new warmth was there that he hadn't had in several days and when he opened his eyes he found Sirius beside him, wide awake and stroking his head so the toss or wavy curls above it would go up and fall back down. "Morning moony" he said smiling a cheesy grin. Remus fell out of his daze in seconds jumping up so that he was higher then Sirius.
"Your ok" he said with glee. "When am I not moons" Sirius replied as he also sat up. Remus pulled him into a tight hug running his hand up and down Sirius' back. Sirius pulled away and tilted Remus' chin down and kissed him. He smiled at the kissed when they pulled away. "God I've missed you" Sirius said. "Me too" Remus smiled. Sirius looked over at the two sleeping boys and then back at Remus "Go have your fun" Remus chuckled. Sirius smiled getting up and going over to annoyingly awaken the over two boys.
Remus just watched in awe, he seemed so fine, so happy like he had no clue what lay ahead, but without even asking Remus knew he did, he could see it in his eyes. The two off them knew what Regulus was capable of, they knew troubled times lay ahead and Remus hoped Sirius would realise that this time round that pushing them away was a bad idea, the old memory flashed in his mind.
It was a Friday. Sirius was acting unusual and soon Remus found out why. "Come with me" sirius whispered. Both the boys went outside. They were on the field when sirius reluctantly let go of Remus hand. "This needs-S to end-d" sirius said. "What needs to end?" Remus asked. "This relationship and are freindship all the freindships I have, tell the others I won't see them later" and with that sirius turned and left. He couldn't chance anyone getting hurt again. He left Remus who fell to the ground feeling crumpled and brokenhearted crying on the ground.
He shivered at the thought of it. He then realised how much he had zoned out, Sirius was sort of staring at him, in a way that it was more of a side eye he was mid talking with James but his eyes were focused on Remus. Remus smiled at Sirius in reassurance and Sirius shot back a grin.
Lily was also thrilled are Sirius reappearance but the tension was thick in the air, they all knew what needed to be discussed but no one dared say anything, if they really planned to push Sirius on the subject they would let him mention it first.
When Sunday rolled in Remus received a letter, Sirius and James were busy talking about the quidditch game nearing and Lily and Peter were talking about if they had future kids what they would call them, James snickered at a name Lily said "I would no way call our child Harry, sorry not sorry Lily" he had said earning him a eye roll.
Remus tore open the letter and it read:
Lupin,
Do not let Sirius read this and do not tell him or I will expose that you are a werewolf to the whole school. Now I want you to play a game with me,my brother has time and time again left you in hope to help him, you time and time again have been hurt now lets switch the roles, break up with him by Wednesday or I will expose you and kill the red head. Tell no one, and just so you know the game will not stop there.
Black. He looked up no one had noticed how tense he had become, he quickly slipped the letter into his pocket and got up quietly no attention drawn to him, head lowered his eyes starting to build with tears as he walked out.
This couldn't be happening. He couldn't do this to Sirius, he would of let the whole world knew his secret but Lily, he had been his first friend at Hogwarts losing her would crush him. And now leaving Sirius will crush him too.
But there was only one choice.
He wanted with all his heart to spend the next few days as close as possible to Sirius but he knew that would crush him even more in the end so right then he went to the dorm and he wrote a letter. He would send it tommorow morning.
He slipped into his own bed that night and closed his eyes he was the first to the dorm, he pretended to be asleep when he heard new people come into the room, but that still didn't stop Sirius from slipping next to him and putting his arm around his waist.
Remus cried alot that night though he hid it well. When he got up in the morning he wiped away his tears, he was the first up and he headed to the owlery, if he gave the letter to Otter now Sirius would get it at breakfast which Remus wouldn't be at, he wouldn't dare be at.
